Having a match debrief and a pint recently with Nines and Ciarrai, and we are top of the league. Should be happy days, right?

I say, "I should be happier, but there's no massive elation. We are top of the league. Where's the joy? Is there something wrong with me?".

Prof Nines, the eminent world-renowned psychologist, immediately diagnoses my problem, "you are a QPR fan, who knows, deep down, that something probably will go wrong".

Is the Prof right? Is it possible for me ever to have a relaxed, assured and confident happiness with my blue and white lot?

If the Prof is wrong, I'm going back to the White Horse to get my £100 consultation fee off him!

    I am happy.

Things have already started to go wrong - striker crisis. That's part of the fun ie the anticipation of what Harry and Tony will do to fix it.

Chillax and enjoy the ride. It's supposed to be entertainment, not life or death!

Surely thats an inherent part of being a rangers fan - the rollercoaster is at the crest of the curve, will the track level out, rise even further or fall dramatically?

Thats why my brother the Arsenal supporter will never experience the importance of minor sporadic success and years of heartache and failure. Its what makes us what we are

    Its all good

I think we are happy but are also in two minds. Yes we are top but unlike some other teams who have had some decisive wins, we haven't been so persuasive.
So while one team has a big win one week, they have tended to lose the next.
We on the other hand, have been taking micro steps but many of them, to crawl our way to the top. It's called winning ugly and because we are lacking in strikers.

We are the turtles in the race ...................... we just let the hare's look good for a while but we'll win through in the end, I trust.
In saying that, if we can conjure up a 4-0 win overnight ( just for old times sake ) I'll be one happy chappy.

Lets face it, it will go tits up one day....could even be today.....but the sun is shining, it's pleasantly warm, we're top of the league and away at Yeovil.....We don't win things on a regular basis, but then again nor do the likes of Arsenal, but we accept it....in the 47 years of following the R's we've had someting like 7 promotions and 6 relegations.....it's what we do....

I think subconsciously we are comparing 2010-11 to this season, at this stage we had a goal difference of 19-2 (+17) compared to our 7-2 this season. The football is stuttering compared to the confident flowing game we played then. And we are QPR, nothing is ever easy. Today is another banana-skin in waiting, another 1-0 will do for me...

We have no strikers, we might never score again......it keeps me up at night - so much to be worried about

Utopia = winning + playing good football. Great to win of course but nice to do it with a bit of flair and be entertained. We achieved this in the championship winning year and boy was I happy with our lot then. Then we had Faurlingate! The last couple of seasons have flattened us as was pointed out in the atmosphere thread. At the end of the day we live in the moment and a 3 nil win today and we will be happy bunnies.

Started a similar thread. As far as I. Can see we have just about the best player in every position in this league, and in Harold a manager with a reputation for attacking football. Now I've come to terms with the short term nature of the strategy (up this year, rebuild again next summer), things look pretty good. Quality of the football can only get better, should be good fun this year.

I'm not so sure about a £100 consultation fee, but there should be a fine of at least that amount for using "chillax"!

Reasonably happy with results thus far, but a little dodgy how we're getting them

Considering where we came from, and the potential for complete implosion, I think we are performing extremely well.

Of course we would prefer more goals, but, we are top of the league !!

The defence is by far the most positive aspect - absolutely rock solid
