I never dismiss that horse. Not sure about the going or the distance but maybe this will be more like a 7f race. If I were at the races I would probably have a small dabble on Lightning Cloud, Hoof It and Our Jonathan.
G'day chaps Nice write ups ROTO - hope they all do you proud. I've joined you in a little ew on Humidor (with my own selection Gabriel's Lad to win!) and win only Maarek. My best bet at Ayr though has to be Coral Mist (6-1) while at Newbury I think the Irish have a big player in Saxo Jack Good luck all
Not betting today but I like tropics in the Ayr gold cup and disclaimer over at Newmarket. Good luck all who do play!
Tricky day today with these big sprint handicaps. I will go for ; Newbury 1.50 Camborne 4/1 2.20 Supplicant 4/1 2.55 Viewpoint 12/1 [ew] 3.30 York glory 7/1 Ayr 2.05 Willie The Whipper 11/2 3.15 Valonia 5/2 3.50 Duke of Firenze (ew) 33/1
Very keen on The Crafty Butcher in the 4.45 at Listowel today. Michael Hourigan's Vinnie Roe gelding had a fine spring with a nonchalant victory in a Clonmel maiden followed by 2 nice placed efforts on his first try at handicap company. The booking of Barry Geraghty really catches the eye today and the cut in the ground should suit him. He looks to be one of the least exposed runners in the field and at 8/1 looks a solid proposition in a race that shouldn't take too much winning. Best of luck today everyone
Looks like draw wise Hoof it....Spinatrix and Tropics have ideal draws and must have outstanding chances based on the bronze and silver cups!!
Saxo Jack finished like a train Reebs. One to be on next time, especially over a very stiff 10f or further.
To many jockeys waiting for the silk road today. Just pull it wide and get a run for **** sake, and if you get beat you get beat. better than flying late home when the winner has got first run.
Thank **** for Maarek, got me just above evens now. Was in a right hole. I would of backed it anyway, but thanks for making me more confident ROTO
Just denied a nice Newbury treble with York glory there but Maarek loves these conditions and must surely go for a repeat win at Ascot in 4 weeks
Stunning performance by Maarek. I think that was his career best. To make up that much ground after getting blocked off it was a really superb performance as he made up a huge amount of ground late on.
Two questions: Why was Maarek not favourite for the Newbury 3:30 given his love of soft ground and the front runners guaranteeing it would not be a crawl? With Gina Bryce telling Wayne Lordan that he was popular with the English girls at Ayr, what has she got between her ears other than air and a pretty face?
