I said we are short of them. Hope your fog has cleared. What utter clap trap. Hull City are playing in the PL and from what ive seen so far Curtis Davies is playing as well as anyone and we have played Chelsea and Manchester City so far. I suggest that you are totally wrong. Ok. Spot on. Does not matter who you are playing for IF that player is playing in the top league and playing well.
Aye theres a lot of competition for him its a pity he's not another nationality. Italy could pensioned off Pirlo years ago if Hudd was an eytie.
He's played 4 matches, Tickles. That's nowt to go on. Let's see what happens towards December/ January time.
Thudd is not at the top of his game due to lack of pitch time, a good run of injury free Prem games and we will start to see his best. Not saying he's been crap but there is a lot more to come from him. Yep your right his game is more suited to the Italians or Spanish Chazz. I very much doubt he'll ever play for England again, hope I am wrong like.
The players you mentioned are better and that's why they're more likely to be picked. My point was simply that your criteria of only picking players at top clubs would be wrong. I agree with you on Huddlestone. This is the thing with England we've got loads of good midfielders who can run games at PL level yet we struggle to out-pass teams internationally. Looking at Huddlestone not making the squad you'd think we were ace.
I don't rate Cleverley as good enough for the Man U squad, never mind England. Just don't see anything in him at all. Also, I don't believe Roy has any Hull City player on his radar at the moment, nor likely to do for a while. The media picks most of the squad anyway and until someone sees a City player have a blinder against a top 6 team they have little chance of getting looked at.
Btw, the part that lets Huddlestone down is his movement. Sure he can pass a ball, but that isn't enough when your team wants to keep the ball. Look at Barcelona, Xavi and Iniesta are constantly moving into spaces, they know where the space is, they know how to exploit it. Without that ability their other skills would be less effective. This is why Cleverley is picked, he actually has really good movement and did pretty good for England.
I just listened to Curtis Davies on Tiger player, and he is very articulate and speaks well to the media, similar to Rossy. Performance wise he has really impressed me, he has a dominance which gives the whole defence a feeling of control. Chessy is also a quality player, but much more quiet and just gets on with his job. As far as England is concerned they are a long way off at the moment, but continue to improve, and to have 2 English centre backs that play together, is not a bad thing for England to have in their defence, not many EPL teams have that if any.
Now that is a better comment. Alot can and will change over the coming months. But as the thread is about Curtis Davies and he is playing well at the moment so he must have been noticed even by Roy.
I think you're missing my point. I meant the 3 you named are ****e as well and if they're the best we've got then we're really screwed.
unfortunately we aren't a fashionable club. I think Thudd/Davies made a mistake coming to us, they won't get an England call up anytime soon.. not until we become an established team.
I agree we aren't a fashionable club, but the England lads, or any internationals aren't hurting their chances.
