Are they not jobs then? Is claiming benefit a preferable option to taking a job like that for you? I've been out of work for approximately three months of my life over four separate occasions, the longest of which lasted a month. I've worked everywhere from bars to call centres to labouring in a factory whilst waiting for something better because I prefer to work than sign on.

Jobs are out there. Plenty of them if you genuinely want to work.

Well that's not the case with my son, he got off his arse and got a job. The difference is probably the way he was brought up. What's the matter with cleaning and Bar work? The Dragon household above that is it? So what if people have to move for work, it shows character. It is the reason why so many Poles and other's get jobs in Wales while locals don't. Its time the fat, lazy benefit cheating bums got off their butts and got work and stopped sponging off the rest of us who do. Off to work now, remember that Dragon?

Yeah, **** jobs that don't pay enough to live on. There's no shortage of those in the coalition's Wonga Economy.

Anyway, **** politics. Well done for last night chaps.

Don't blame the player, blame the game.

Not worth working for many people.

This thread is NOT about lazy people scrounging off the State - that is a totally different issue (and one which I am sure most level headed people would not condone).

It is about people with disabilities having their benefits cut or removed.

No PGF, many people falsely claim sickness and disability benefits, we all knows a few, this takes cash away from people in real need. Many people with disability can also work and do also work, this kind of benefits thinking has barred them from employment. The tread is diabolically labels the Conservative party alongside Nazi's and juxtapositions geoballs with Cameron. This just for asking that people be assessed. What have they got to hide? This is a disgusting thing to do.
This poster has history of doing things like this and in the past has falsely called someone a *****phile on a thread on this forum and no sanction was taken against him.
Many people are falsely claiming benefit in this country whether sickness or otherwise, its time it stopped. If that hurts you what have you got to hide?

Nothing to hide gendros. I am in full employment and pay my taxes.

Falseley claiming sickness and benefit is a criminal offence and should be pursued with the full force of the law (as should tax avoidance on a corporate level - but again that is another issue)

The actual cutting of benefits to disabled people is again, a separate issue. While you need to look at the overall benefits picture, these are very separate issues within the benefits system.

Agreed they are separate issues, PGF. The thread moved to discuss many different things, but back to the main thread. It is wrong to label Conservative ministers as Nazis, this is disgusting as is labeling a lord a *****phile, these people have no redress. If people don't agree with the policy then by all means vote and protest to change it. The fact is the govt was democratically elected, the majority of us voted for precisely these changes, people are sick to death of the benefits culture.

1% of the population actually cheat the benefit system but the tories will always use this as scaremongering, some of these people have no choice to try and fiddle the system just to survive. the biggest scoungers of all are the politicians for example....
They award themselves through the backdoor a £10,000 pay rise while telling the population that we must tighten our belts with wage freezes and cut backs.....we are all in this together.
They are paid thousands of pounds that is not checked to purchase a second home and all the furniture is paid for by the taxpayer....we are all in this together...
they get food substances and even their alchohol is subsidised and they can smoke in the bars at westminster, we are still in this together..
they get fuel allowances and free first class travel on planes and trains....again we are in this all together..
If they lose their parliament seat then thats ok as for the next 4 years they still get an mp's pay that is called resettlement money. we are all in this together..
They get thousands of pounds to employ staff. 52% employ family and put them on £50K + or more wages, we are still all in this together...
There are many many more perks at the taxpayers expense as these are just a few to mention, so when you hear all politicians bang on about 1% of the public ripping off the system then its all scaremongering as the biggest scroungers ripping off this country are the politicians themselves....

Your way off target and talking rubbish, you presume that people are generally lazy and do not want to improve their lot in life, and your ignorance is staggering, but as far as my house hold is concerned they are not work shy which you are trying to imply, as for my son, he works hard in a local hotel, as well as doing his university studies, but this is not the purpose of this thread which you have side tracked, so I suggest you take a good hard look at the lady in the pictures of the Mail article, who's disability is clear for all to see, you clearly demonstrate the worst side of human nature, and would you swap your health conditions for hers? I think not, talk is cheap mate!......................<ok>

Your way of target here Gendros, this thread is not about the spongers, it's about the poor woman in the picture, who is clearly disabled from birth, would you like to change places with her? I think not!

I agree with the original OP who posted the article comparing the treatment of this poor woman as Nazi style treatment, and you'll not alter my view on than one bit, you display all the characteristics of a self satisfied, I'm all right Jack!................<ok>

If this lady is incapable of working then she will get her benefits reinstated, so stop being hysterical, Dragon.

This debate isn't about "people with disabilities having their benefits cut or removed", it's about people who say they are unable able to work being scrutinised to assess the valdity of their claim. Long overdue. Many disabled people work you know. It's not a licence to do **** all unless you are unfortunately one of the few who really can't do anything at all.

Interesting to read your comments on the 'evil tories' when in today's press we see the story of Gordon Brown's spin doctor who admits running 'smear campaigns' from Number 10, setting out to ruin at least two political careers (he did so successfully) and access sensitive information that he shouldn't have been privy to. A direct quote: "he routinely discredited opponents by tipping off newspapers about ‘drug use, spousal abuse, alcoholism and extra-marital affairs’". These were individuals in government for god's sake. <doh>

After messing up the economy, taking 12 years in which they failed to right any of society's wrongs, over-inflating the public sector, scandalously wasting public money and now in complete disarray as the economy recovers I suggest you take down that red flag flying in your garden. It's embarrassing. And yes I voted for them in '96. <laugh>
