That's a ridiculous exaggeration. He won two headers nowhere near the goal and we hardly had a shot all game. The two we did have were nothing to do with Sagbo whatsoever. He was alright against Chelsea and nothing more.
Sagbo was far better when playing centrally against Chelsea than Graham. However Graham has looked a lot better in the past couple of matches.
he also won a number of free kicks because they couldnt handle his strength and movement, it isnt all about winning headers, not exaggerated just an observation
SB said this re playing all 3 strikers Nick Proschwitz will also be hoping for a place in the squad that travels to Tyneside after scoring four times for the Reserves on Wednesday night. Bruce believes that will have done the German strikerâs confidence some good after not featuring in any of the Tigersâ Premier League fixtures so far this season. âWe know Nick has had a difficult start to playing in England, but confidence-wise Wednesday night will have done him the world of good,â added Bruce. âThat was the aim of Wednesday night, to get the strikers playing and scoring a few goals and thankfully Nick scored four. âThatâs great for him and Iâm delighted. I agree it isn't all about winning headers but that was the only positive thing he did. No one in our attack did anything noteworthy against Chelsea. We were kept completely at arm's length by Chelsea throughout. A Koren long-shot and a Davies header were our only shots and both were half chances. Sagbo might turn out to be a world beater but anyone making out he's proven something in the time he's played so far is kidding themselves. He's done the grand sum of **** all.
Exactly. Its snowballed so much his Chelsea performance. No one seems to remember when we were battered first half Ivanovic tore him a new one and totally dominated him(no shame in it either) while DG was doing nowt in the middle.
I think Prozzy should be given a chance he obviously can score goals its not as if the goal area is smaller in the Prem, he can get shots on target which is more than we have seen from a lot of players recently.
I think your missing the point, Sagbo against Chelski when moved centrally made a difference, he harried, chased, dispossessed their defenders who resorted to fouling him, this is my point, he isn`t Messi or Ronaldo, but he is a handful, prior to that they were coasting against Danny Graham because they were allowed to be comfortable, once Sagbo had moved into the centre we came into the game more because of the pressure he was exherting from the front. The midfield then started to get possession and find our passing range, with better delivery from the midfield to Sagbo and Aluko things may, and I only say may have been different. I for one see a powerful forward in the making, whether he will deliver the amount of goals required is a different thing, but I keep referring to the likes of Heskey, always slated for lack of goal scoring, but those playing alongside him benefited. He has played a full game and one third of one, during that time when played centrally he has helped stem the tide against Chelski and won a penalty against Naaarwich, in my opinion he has shown more the `f**k all` as you see it.
Chelsea's defenders coasted it the entire game and Sagbo achieved nothing more than Graham did. We started keeping the ball much better second half but you surely don't really believe that was because Sagbo changed positions and not because we brought on our two best players and passers of the ball?
