Thinks he might get spotted if Hodgy comes to watch Thud and Jake. A bias view is on current form he looks better than Cahill

Cahill is capable of looking excellent, but sometimes he looks so cumbersome and amateurish. The Scotland match in particular, where Kenny Miller turned in the box and left Cahill maneuvering like a lorry - that would not happen to Curtis.

I also think he's miles better than Lescott too. And Jagielka/shawcross/caulker etc are'nt streets ahead.

If you went on performances alone he'd definitely be in the squad - having played so well, including against two of the top teams.

It would be nice to see a couple of our lads get called up for at least some friendlies.

I expect it just to be the same as when we were waiting for a Turner call up that never happened, although so far I do think Curtis is better than Turner I just can't quite see it happening. Even though if he carries on how he has been playing so far, he deserves a call up.

Chester is better than Davies. Not by much, like.

Chester has potential and should come on leaps and bounds with CD beside him.

Huddlestone, Livermore, Chester and Davies must all be on the England radar, can't wait to see one of them get a cap whilst playing for City, that'll be a very proud day.

Now that Rio and JT have retired from international football he has as much chance as anyone else. Other than Cahill - Jags and Dawson we are short of quality defenders.

Phil Jones and Chris Smalling spend as much time injured than playing or so it appears. <whistle>

The higher Hull City are in the PL the more notice Roy will have to take of Davies and Huddlestone. Maybe even Livermore and Chester.

When the talk was about Turner for England the likes of Rio and JT were still on top of there game. The landscape has now somewhat changed. On form Curtis Davies is playing as well as any England defender.

Considering Livermore and Thudd have already been called up by Hodgson, i'd expect them to go up first.

On current form Davies and either Livermore or Thud should be in the squad. Chester not too far off.

so much so that I had forgotten the existence of Smalling.

that might be the combination of beer and Alzheimer's though.

You're all stupid and this is the real reason the English team is ****. Managers make **** players look decent, everyone raves, they get called up.

Nugent, Jeffers, Barton, Bowyer, David Dunn

Then the multiple cap players like Bridge, Bent, Adam Johnson, Lambert, Carroll.

Don't get me wrong, the same thing happens at club level too, that's why Carroll, Bent, Lescott went for far too much.

No current city player is good enough for England and the only one that actually has a chance is Huddlestone.

Livermore doesn't count because he isn't ours.

Put a cheeky few quid on Davies being our top scorer this year. Real defender but looks good in the oppositions box as well.

    We've played 4 matches ffs!

How can anybody seriously suggest one of our players should get a call up after that many matches.

4 matches more than Chris Smalling, yet he gets called up...

Also, how can Hodgson pick Tom Cleverley over Thudd or any other decent England midfielder. Seriously?

So we've got no quality defenders then.

This is going to go down the same line of "Turner for England", and even worse "cairney for England" despite him being Scottish.

I like Davies, but England should never pick anybody outside of the top half in the league, if they're considering trying to challenge for a cup in a major tournament. City are a bit off that just a tthe moment.
