Leonard Flyer has been on the Absinthe again but has always had a point re cover at these positions ... As Ii said from the off also . I like BZ and AJ but it not rocket science to know that their bodies keep letting themselves and their clubs down. Harold take a quick count up how many midfielders we have at the moment? ... Henry can play central defence but overall it is of course a massive oversight. We need solid players in asap
If that is true then Harold, Phil, Stephen and the entire club are totally to blame for this ... There is no excuses here now and we now have to rush out to plug holes ... so much for getting the right sort of players in etc.
Well then the club best make him a better offer ... Harold has his sights set on Kanu and Sol Campbell
Apparently we made Baird a fair offer, and he didn't want it. If he was more concerned about getting more games, then you can see his point also. C'est la vie... move on. That's the point of having a management team - time to find an alternative now. Gutted for Onouha, this was going to be a real defining season for him. Look forward to him coming back for the extremely vital run-in to the end of the season. We'll need him, that's for sure, he has played a vital part in us having a strong defence (so important in our 1-0 wins and clean sheets so far).
QPR boss Redknapp confirms Baird snub QPR manager Harry Redknapp 20/09/2013 By David McIntyre QPR manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Chris Baird has snubbed the club and agreed to sign for Reading. Redknapp discovered on Thursday that key defender Nedum Onuoha will be out for at least a couple of months with a hamstring injury. He therefore looked to finally complete the signing of former Fulham man Baird, who has been training with Rangers for the last six weeks. Instead the 31-year-old Northern Ireland international, a free agent since being released by Fulham during the summer, has opted for a move to the Madejski Stadium. His decision is a blow for Rangers, who fully expected him to eventually sign despite Baird stalling over putting pen to paper. âReading obviously pay decent wages â they were willing to pay Wayne Bridge more in the summer when we wanted him,â said Redknapp. âI wanted Chris and he trained here yesterday but now weâve been told heâs signing for Reading. âWe made him what I thought was a good offer and I donât think we should have offered him more to try to get him here.â Onuohaâs injury, which was suffered during the midweek draw with Brighton, leaves Redknapp short of defensive options and he now intends to make a loan signing.
I said earlier he was a dick for using our facilities and not signing, anyone else now agree with me? Good on the club for not paying over the top.
Good on the club for not paying over the top.[/QUOTE] but surely reading don't pay top wages, at least you can give him stick when you play reading, I never heard the harry press conference, did he say hes favourite line, we are down to the bare bones, real shame about nedum
Hark at us, criticising Redknapp and supposing he hasn't been trying to get in the right sort of players for the past few months, whilst balancing this properly with those shown the door. Every time a player is mentioned there's an avalanche of posts saying he's crap, he's too old, he'll never come here, he's too expensive and his wages are too high, and yet we're now on Redknapp's back saying he's failed already when we're a point clear and unbeaten in the league. Of course this position will change: we'll get turned over, other teams will win convincingly, one or two teams will forge ahead at the top. And yet 3 months ago some were putting us down for the League One Trapdoor. Until such a time as we're bottom half and the laughing stock (again) I shan't be joining Flyer and the Hordes that think Redknapp doesn't know what is required and isn't trying to get it done. For me he's already worked a minor miracle.
Agree completely. Knee jerk buys and bribing players to come has been replaced with caution which is what we wanted but it doesn't get the players we want all the time. Harry will have a bit more scope to wheel and deal in the loan market where we're not tied in to broken players and wrong sorts on long contracts. If Hill, Dunne and Austin can hold out for a week or two then I'm sure the cavalry will arrive.
Mate your to negativity as Cerny was to transfers, you speculate about everything negatively and when something comes true your on the bandwagon of "I've told you so" quicker than a jack russell. I'm with you Uber, we knew there were gaps and knew there was work still to be done, just unfortunate one has been exposed before it had a chance to be plugged. Bad news indeed, hope Ned gets fit quick.
Dunne has zero pace NUTSY. His reading of the game is what makes up for that. Having Hill and Dunne as a CB pairing will be fine but it makes Henry's contribution all the more important now.
It's a real downer that our best players have (not zombie) got injured...But it does not mean that whoever comes in wont do a good job. It's a funny old game...
Maybe then the club shouldnt make the obvious, glaring mistakes? Id have nothing to point out if they didnt insane decisions.
