Bad news... Onohua has a 'very bad' hamstring tear

No-one coming back to fitness who is off either

Harry says we're in for a central defender and a striker on loan

Really not good news so early in the season. I am sure we all wish him a speedy recovery.

That is bad news, Hill back in the centre to partner Dunne and bring in BAE?

Awful news. He has been outstanding, hopefully he can recover quickly.

Does that include the likes of Hitchcock?

He's been our most consistent player this season, his pace at the back will be a real miss. I hope he recovers as quickly as possible.

Essential we get a pacey CB on loan, or get Chris Baird on a contract ASAP. We can't rely on Hill and Dunne being our only fit CB's

Well Chalobah has already gone to Forest - he'd have been fantastic. Not many other "pacey" centre backs around i'm afraid.

I think Baird is now a must. No fee, just wages.
Trying to think of any decent Prem squad player who might come in on a three month loan. Has to be somebody at one of the top clubs who needs game time.
Otherwise put a young pacey CB beside Dunne/Hill and we'd be ok.

I would not have thought so... but it wasn't clear either way.

It's also Simpsons cover gone. That's why Baird is so important as he can potentially cover several positions.
Maybe with the form that our settled back four were showing it scared him off? Maybe he didn't see himself getting a lot of game time?

Why all the mistrust in Clint Hill? He has been outstanding so far this season and was one of the very few who showed pride in the shirt during our all to brief stint in the Premiership.

Its not mistrust, it's just him and Dunne are the slowest centre back pairings in the world.

Dunne is slow to turn but still has plenty of pace.
It's not mistrust in anybody, it's just the lack of cover we have especially at CB

Couple of months at least, now this is why I dont like Redknapp, we are down to Dunne and Hill for CBs and Austin at CF and I said it would happen.

You could claim Onuoha was bad luck but you still have to prepare for that, any idiot could see Zamora and AJ werent going to be fit. One more injury at CB/CF and we are truly screwed.

Time to face up to it, Flyer has been consistent for ages that we are light in several areas, CB and CF in particular. Its pretty crap planning not have noticed the bleeding obvious and done something about it by now - we have a few ancient, injury prone players who need cover. Ned a real shame. And suspensions haven't kicked in yet.

What irritates me is that 40 years ago we can come second in the league with a squad of 15, now it looks like 25 won't be enough. I know players are much better in terms of physical performance nowadays, but whats the point if they break down injured all the time. It's exactly the same in rugby. Hyper fitness just makes them more likely to tear things that ages ago we would have thought a proper warm up would have avoided. Wear and tear, impact and twist injuries - fair enough. But injuring yourself while running, a pretty basic element of your job????? Not a dig at Ned, he's just an example. ****ing Michael Owen spent a career not turning up because of his hamstrings.

Cue deluge of posts calling him an ungrateful bastard etc etc. Why them? Obviously he thought he was going to start more often for them. If Harold was explicitly interested in him as back up, why wouldn't he go somewhere where he gets on the pitch?

Probably felt he was more likely to get a regular start there, and they may have met his wage demands; our austerity seems to be holding.
