Suppose we need to give White a chance, as he is attacking and quick, so something like this ---------------------Kenny------------------- Byram-------Wooton--Pearce-------White --------------------Brown----------------- ------Murphy------Austin------Tonge----- ----------Poleon-----McCormack---------
These guys eat league players for breakfast. you can see the fear in the Aussie's
He needs game time, and if he doesnt perform than thats his Leeds career over. Hope he brings something to the table and we get back a decent winger. Theres something about him but maybe his attitude stinks? Why oh why do players waste the chances they get? Nile Ranger a prime example
Afternoon all. Just returned & I do like the look of the 532 with Varney on the left. Depending on which side he plays, 532 will also work for Mowatt to come on sometime during the game. Having said all of that, we really must find a role for Diouf. On Hall, glad he's going out on loan. It will give BMD one last chance to see whether or not he has a future at Leeds. On league v Union, at least in Union players don't whimp out after only 6 tackles, and at least when you get to a union semi final, you know its a semi final. What the phuk is a preliminary semi final?
Afternoon All Back on my feet and fighting fit again. I was just going to do a match thread for Burnley, but as it seems there's already a lot of discussion here, doesn't make sense to have two on the go. Normal service for the next game (honest). I've been thinking about 5-3-2, and I see elland has as well. I'd probably go Pearce, Lees, Wooton as CBs then Byram and White (as Warnock is suspended) as Wing Backs. Midfield trio of Murphy Austin and Tonge with McCormack and Poleon up front. We need to start getting our forwards firing really. I do like Ellands idea of using Brown as an anchor though, if we had a player who could confidently play CB and DM, then that would give us a nice fluid option to swap between 5-3-2 and the diamond we all love so much. I think we'll probably stick with the 4-4-2 diamond pushing to a 4-3-3 when we attack though. Burnley are on a good run at the minute and they'll come at us. If we had some wide pace then there might be a few opportunities to hit them on the break (which is where White might provide something) but I think this might be a tough one for us.
Boggers I agree the play offs system is a joke but Union players wouldn't manage 50 minutes in league far superior athletes and each could play in any position rather than fat bastards at prop skinny at wing. Union do no tackles and whimp out n kick
MTMB, Union players certainly do tackle & the game never really stops, save for setting up a line out. Union forwards ruck, maul, line out, scrummage AND tackle. Compare that with league forwards. They just tackle. They can't even cope with a scrummage. The only time there is competition for the ball is when League forward have to kick it across the field when attack and defence compete for the ball. (I have to say that as an attacking option, its one thing that Legue do do very well.) In Union, there is competiton at the line out, in rucks and mauls to a degree, and at the scrummage. I know they are different games, but Union has so much more to it than League. But League is a good training vehicle for League backs before they come and play the real game.... & try to forge a place in their national squad for a real world cup. So MTMB, the case for League is.... (over to you)
Ruck Mauls and Lineouts are boring no skill required plays. League you have to be ultra fit and need to think quick rather than mess about jumping on one another until someone decides to pick it up n kick it.
League is okay, but not close to Union at all. Rucks, mauls, lineouts ... all require serious skill and savvy. Union is so much more strategic than League will ever be.
