When I said he doesn't shoot, I didn't mean literally 'never' as he clearly does. However, I don't think he shoots on target anymore like he used to, he seems more keen to get an assist nowadays. There have been numerous occasions this season when I've screamed shoot at the screen when Stevie's had space just outside the box but he controls and passes instead. The old Gerrard would hit it, first time if being closed down.
Moses scored from outside the box on Monday. Studge has a couple too. Other players have had plenty of long range efforts as well. It's just Gerrard who seems to have stopped doing it as much. I don't know whether he's been told to or not (which would be crazy), maybe he's just lost confidence in his long range shooting (he doesn't hit the target as much when he does shoot from range either) but there is definitely something different.
