One more thing perhaps? worthy of note as has been said many time confidence is everything. Prozzy will be feeling really good about himself and now believing himself to be the next Van Persie. Can only be good. And lets face it we all want him to do well and golly we could do with someone who can score goals. Worth at least a place on the bench.
Our Nick found his scoring boots against Rotherham. Four in the second half. All our problems are solved. http://www.hullcityafc.net/news/article/201314-reserves-rotherham-h-report-1063060.aspx?
I thought I had too much to drink last night when I read that! Let's hope he has found the confidence to match his ability. Probably too late to change SB opinion of him though isn't it?!
Nick did play well last night, but must be said against a young/limited opposition. He worked hard, chased everything down and got his reward. The bigger worry was that Sagbo was terrible (read invisible) and didnt do anything to stake a place back in the squad. Fryatt was.... well Fryatt, occassionally looked good but ultimately always takes too many touches and gets closed out. A few of the you players look very promising... Watson (8) looked very tidy, Max Clarke is maturing nicely.
Not a chance on that bench, I don't see SB only having 1 defender in the bench, Alex will surely make it, especially away from home. I think it was Duane Darby back against Whitby when he hit the 6. Last hat trick was Fryatt v Barnsley 2 seasons ago.i don't recall reading even any reserve games with a hat trick, but feel free to correct me.
What's such a shock about Basel beating Chelsea? Theyve knocked Man Utd out of the Champions League recently. Theyre a good team.
Cheers for that mate .... don't get allot of people actually saying this sort of stuff out here in Qatar so it is good to hear a bit of reporting on these games.
It is kind of worrying about Sagbo. One wouldve thought after his cock-up when being given a golden chance and then 3 games out he would be busting a gut to impress.
It was like he thougt it was pre-season (just a fitness exercise). Although at times in the 1st half he was looking for an early ball over the top and the ball was getting recycled in midfield. Maybe he thought "bollocks to making these runs if no one has the vision to pick me out". Prozzy was rewarded for his work as once we got control of midfield in the 2nd half his movement was rewarded.
Because you don't expect it? I know Basel are a good side, very underrated, but did you really see them winning at Stamford Bridge?
I'm really glad Proschwitz had such a good game. 2 matches in a row now he's scored. The obvious response from some will be - it's only the reserves - but finding your confidence at a lower level can sometimes be just what's needed to make the step up. I'd be very tempted to have him on the bench at Newcastle.
Yeah I missed that, it'll be interesting to see who goes wide right now, probably Elmo who should make a better fist of it than Koren who is more suited to playing in the hole, and it'll also be nice to see Rosie back in the side at right back This could be the twist of fate that's needed as Koren can be a waste of a place at times, granted he can also pop in the odd 25 yard screamer but they have been a bit of a rarity of late, I just hope that Curtis Davies is given the armband as, for me anyway, he is the only player in the first team that looks anything like a natural leader
Put it this way. He has raced passed both Sagbo and Fryatt for a place on the bench @ Newcastle. One good firm header - 2 good shots and a tap in. Could have had 2 more like. Looks like he knew a place on the bench was up for grabs. Save Sagbo for Udders tuesday.
Maybe he knows the score for saturday or at least that Steve Bruce wont just bring him back into the 18 men on match days. Sagbo has to earn his place back. Otherwise it will send out the wrong messages.
Agree with this I'm afraid. The reserves will never be as fast-paced or physical as a league game and that's Prossy's problem. Scoring against Rotherham's kids is one thing but when he's got big PL centre halves jumping up with him I don't see him winning a header. Brucey's recent comments about him tell you all you need to know.
Given the Donny reserves were suggested to be a collection of youngsters then Prozzy should have been able to bully them a little, as should Sagbo, unfortunately I haven`t seen Prozzy bully anyone on a fotty pitch since he arrived, Sagbo on the other hand gave the Chelsea defenders a right going over, ok he got carried away with Naaaarwich, but lets not forget Turner struggled to cope hence why he gave a penalty away, got to be Sagbo for me, Prozzy has to show a bit of metal before SB would trust in him again I think, I suspect he`ll be given a go against Udders with probably Sagbo getting a run out too for an hour to boost his fitness.
