I wouldn't say Ozil was "excellent" but he was good when he had the ball. I think he should have sought the ball a lot more in the first half to help out Flamini and Ramsey. He had very few touches, and looked still a bit shy of full match fitness.
I thought the whole team where fairly quiet in the first half though. He grew into the game and when he had the ball his touch and passing where fantastic. He had chance at goal because of his good movement and set up a great chance with a back heel. He also made a run to draw away the defenders for Ramseys goal. Good performance.

The win is exactly what we needed to start off this tough group and it was the away leg, which in the past against Marseille has been difficult for us as well. Remember this Mairselle team have won the french league and finished runners-up in the last few seasons and have CL experience. Napoli getting a result i think means this group is going to be very tight. Dortmund are solid and will pick up points (and remember Dortmund had a man and there mnager sent off).
That was a really tough test for us. Marseille were strong physically and thought they really pushed us in the first half. Am particularly enjoying the collective defending from the boys this season. Its working really well and I thought that was what gave us the win tonight.. We soaked up a lot of their attacks in the half and came out attacking in second half.. Brilliant we got the three points in a tough group and kudos to both Rambo and Gibbs. They were both excellent for me.
From Ramseys comments it seems the pitch wasn't great today and in the first half i noticed a couple of players looking down as if the pitch had come up with there foot and they where checking there boots. Coupled with a fairly intimidating atmosphere and quite a physical team and i can see of Napoli or Dortmund dropping points to Marsielle in France.
