QPR still battling Swans over Graham Published 23:00 06/06/11 By Neil McLeman Recommend Danny Graham-Watford cropped QPR have made a new offer for Watford star Danny Graham. The Hornets have accepted a £3.5million offer from Premier League new boys Swansea for the Championshipâs top scorer last season. But Neil Warnockâs Championship winners, who had a £2.5m bid knocked back last month, have now matched Swanseaâs valuation of the forward. I still think Swansea are favorites, Graham played for Rodgers before at Watford. But at least we've upped our offer. Things should start to happen this week with Warnock back from holiday.
Well I for one are really glad wer'e actually starting to compete in splashing the cash. Am I right in thinking if the bid is accepted, it will be Ranger's record signing?
I hope this is Kosha and not more crap from the mirror we wait now to see if Watford say that a bid has been accepted
I suppose holding off from improving our first offer might have been shrewd - match the top offer once Watford have agreed a sum, no bidding war.
If this article is to be believed, then I think we probably stand a better chance than Swans in gaining Graham's signature. Brendan Rogers never actually worked with Graham before he went to manage Reading so there's no real previous history between the two, plus the fact moving to Rangers would allow the player to stay in London has got to be the key to a possible deal. As far as wages I would like to think that we could at least match what Swansea will be able offer should stand us in good stead to make the deal happen. I've read previously that we will have a wage cap of around £35k a week in the prem, which if true should be more than enough to secure Danny Graham's services, as i'm sure he earns in the region of about £10k/wk at Watford currently.
Yes it would Stan. As far as I can remember our previous record was around 2.75m for Mike Sheron back in the day. (Of course Paladini claimed we paid 3.5m for Faurlin but that figure was more likely to be less than 1m.)
anybody worried that a front line of Danny G and HH next season wont be striking (pardon the pun) fear into the likes of John Terry and Rio Ferdinand?
