    If anyone internally replaces Chris Powell then I'd like it to be Damien Matthew, has worked his way up from U18s to Reserves and now is First Team Coach can definitely see him in the Brian McDermott / Brendan Rodgers mold

    You really do struggle with this subject. Again, referring to Powells transfer dealings as "patchy" is absolutely hilarious. Then mentioning a LOAN signing to back up that laughable view after already having several people point out loan signings are always going to be hit and miss because they are purely brought in to make up the numbers. Our standing in the league table, once again, is down to the fact we do not have a squad of players good enough to be at the other end of it. Again, this is down to not bringing quality in, which again, is not down to Powell. As for calling the blatantly obvious points several of us have had to offer you in the hope you see sense "theories", this is not a conspiracy novel, it is just simply how it is in reality.

    Now please, for the love of all that is not tomato, stop with the anti Powell nonsense. If you really feel a need to carry it on, start up a newsletter or something. It cant be that tasking sending a single copy to Typical every week, and let everyone else moan about things that warrant moaning about

    You are clearly in thrall to the bloke for reasons best known to yourself. Your own arguments about his transfer dealings I too find laughable. Presumably you rate Marvin Sordell a success..oh no...he doesn't count as he is a loan.

    Sadly you can't support a one man personality cult in League One next season, which is where we could be heading with CP the human statue and tactical ingenue in charge.

    Can you explain why you think his arguments about the transfer dealings are 'laughable'?

    If all you can do is make up Jimmy's opinions on Marvin Sordell then that shows the paucity of your arguments.

    We could be heading to League 1. We could also be heading to another season of midtable security. We don't know yet.

    It's a pity that V-a-V is resorting to the politicians' trick of distorting your opponents' argument so that it is easier to attack him. There is no one-man personality cult here, if I thought The Doctor was a poor manager I'd expect him to be replaced. If he had paid 3m for Sordell it would be different, but he only picked him up at the last minute when all the players on his wish-list had been taken by clubs we were unable to compete with financially. At the moment it seems we are unable to compete with L1 sides, Haynes turning us down for Notts County.

    If Powell manages to get a Charlton win against Millwall, his manager status will indeed rise as only a couple have managed that in Charlton's 103 year history <ok>

    Have I mentioned that this is the most one-sided local derby in football, world-wide?

    @Vol

    You are incapable of directly challenging a single one of my points by actually countering it with any sense. I have explained in detail to you why what you have said is ridiculous. I suppose if a bus driver was given a bus with no brakes and then had an accident, that would the drivers fault in your eyes? I we had a team capable of winning evey game and being at the other end of the table and were where we are now you would have a right to blame Powell. In reality however, it is very clear we have a team who should be struggling. Call the rest of us crazy, but i have a sneaky suspicion that has quite a lot to do with a lack of investment. You really do amuse me.

    @TC

    The only thing more one sided is Vol's argument with reality

    @ Jimmy

    I popped down to the Valley yesterday to buy some tickets, and asked the staff what sized crowd we are expecting on Saturday. "Around 16,000" was the response :( I hope that he was wrong, it wasn't so long ago we were getting 21,000 for this fixture. If you include 3,200 Lions, are we really saying that our hard core under this management has slipped back to an alarming 12,500 ? Why do you think this is ? Is it the style of football...is it the poor quality of the team...is it the recession. Either way, it cannot be denied that fans are voting with their feet.

    Personally I expect nearer to 19,000 this Saturday.

    I know a lot of fans were extremely hacked off about the policing arrangements last year, also the pricing. This is classified as a "Gold" fixture, meaning season-ticket holders can't use this fixture as one of the 2 freebies for a guest. The club has been quite coy about the season-ticket sales, but they appear to be down considerably from last year. Maybe TC's point has something to do with it as well. So Millwall have probably sold out their allocation, despite getting meagre crowds for the bread-and -butter league games.

    You must be joking, Vol. We'll be lucky to pass the 15,500 mark.

    Early kick-off on TV as well - Why should non Season Ticket holders pay for a Gold fixture when they can watch it for free as part of their Sky subscription from the comfort of their own home!!

    I went to that! Had an excellent drink with some of the old "YourViews" contributors, too. I remember Curbs used to get quite heavily criticised on that forum. Believe it or not there were one or two who said his record of buying players was poor, pointing to Marcus Bent and Gary Rowett, forgetting his many many excellent buys. They clearly had an anti-Curbs agenda.

    I thought Gary Rowett was a quality player. Shame he had his career cut short.

    Any Manager who has a 50%+ success rate in their transfer dealings is doing well <ok> Didn't SAF once buy Eric Djemba-Djemba and Kléberson?

    You win some and lose some :)
