Just seen this tweet from @OfficialQPR:

"Best wishes for a speedy recovery to @eGranero11 following confirmation that he suffered an ACL injury last night"

Didn't reach his full potential with us, but wish him well for his recovery. Looks like his season long loan is over.

I would have thought so, Real Sociedad wont want to have him there just for recovery, and normally the parent club likes to oversee the recovery of injuries. So I think he will be back, just cant play!

This. Along with many others, I had high hopes for Granero when he joined and still thought that he could come good elsewhere. Hopefully he still can.

Wish him well. These kind of injuries are a nightmare, because you have absolutely no idea what the long term effects are once the physical damage has healed. As we know from when this happened to Lee Cook, it can severely impair your speed, with the outcome that Lee changed from a potential International player to a passable League One journeyman.

let's hope Esteban comes through tis and gets back to full fitness and ability.

The best football I have ever seen Rangers play was first half against Spurs away when him and Faurlin absolutely dominated the game and controlled it with their passing.

Thought after that he would kick on but it never really happened as the bad run continue and the teams confidence evaporated which killed any hope of a passing game.

Sure that he’ll go back to his native Spain but to Barcelona which is where the top surgeon for that sort of injury is. That’s what Faurlin did when he had the same injury. Remember him and David Villa became good friends as they were on the recovery together for same thing out there.

True, I meant it on a personal level. Perhaps if he recovers well he could still return for us.

Fair enough mate. You're more considerate than I, that's for sure!

I hope he never plays for us again and don't care what he does anywhere else.

Hope he has to retire and we get the insurance payout. No time for him.

I note that the El Pirata poster arrived, then dropped off our forum back in July when Granero departed - was he some kind of groupie?

I do wish Granero well, and a speedy recovery, but not with us - I fear though that he is now likely back on our payroll for an extended period, or until his current contract expires (Aug 30, 2016). With a season loan, rather than a cheap sale, our original investment has taken a real hit, as he may end up eventually going on a free.

Queens Park Rangers On 30 August 2012, Granero signed a four-year contract with English club Queens Park Rangers after transferring for a reported fee of £9 million, and was handed the number 14 shirt.

Could be ditto for Remy (and the other Loan Rangers) if he were to pick up a serious injury, or end up in the clink. You would think that before stumping up £2 million for a season long loan, that Newcastle would have some sort of release clause in the contract to cover exceptional circumstances?

I was about to mention that too Kilburn. Presumably ElPirata is floating around some Real Sociedad forums somewhere? So much for his promise to "not leave if QPR go down". I think the man probably had some romantic intentions towards Granero, so can possibly be forgiven for jumping ship.

That's exactly what he was and he never made any attempt to hide that fact.

He thought so highly of that player that I don't think he could handle the stick he was getting on here. He eventually cracked and he ain't been seen since. He probably spends his days on a park bench throwing crumbs to the ducks in the pond, with a forlorn look on his face, well past wondering if there's any point to it all. He'd chuck himself in if there wasn't only two feet of water in it.

Just another casualty of this Board along with Imaz, North etc. Just another statistic.
