It is but not the same sack of ****e we would have been in this time last year.. Just one more game to go before Suarez is back, he's more than capable of filling the void left by Ford.. Head up fella!
Correct, but would you rather be in the position we were last year and have it filled by someone like Borini or Sahin (who didn't want to play that role) or a world class player like Suarez? Maybe "round peg into square hole" but he's a damn decent round peg!
We have enough to cope. A couple of weeks back we had no chance against utd cos Toure was out - we had enough back up. We don't rely on one player as we have proved since Suarez got his ban. It's annoying, but we go on.
Aye, he was starting to look good too, first half against the Swans was his best performance so far this season.. Still, that's what the squad is for, next man up, make it count!
there's nothing basically wrong with that BUT.... its out of context. LFC in midfield were totally flat on the night and the impact of that was felt deeply in the first half. coutinho went off fine but lfc could not even pass it to each other at all... hoofing... the midfield were all over the place all night. still don't know why the F lucas was so out of touch and god... ok gerrard played for england but who knows. it could have been lack of prepeatation for a night kick off for all i know.
I enjoy your posts as I'm not the only one who think there's a problem with Lucas and Gerrard partnership lol. As you said, it's a lethargic partnership which has no energy and dynamism, and struggles to impost themselves in a game where we are under pressure. In every game this season, they have become overrun in the second half and they fail to regain control.
When that happens, a change of formation should be the first thing we do, it's not rocket science, 4-2-3-1 with the ball, 4-5-1 without it... Don't think its a bad partnership it just needs us to be more fluid and help out when we can. When going to 4-5-1 we'll need Sturridge to hold the ball up a bit better than he's done of late, however that could be due to his lack of fitness, when back to 100% I hope/expect him to put in a shift for the majority of the game.
Fair points However, I feel it's more to do with the personnel than the tactics. Also, just found this - a list of the fixtures Coutinho is likely to miss which doesn't look too bad: 21 Southampton (H) 25 Capital One Cup third round 28 Sunderland (A) OCTOBER5 Crystal Palace (H) 19 Newcastle United (A) 26 West Bromwich Albion (H)
