Danny - N'Diaye CHOSE to go because Di Canio wouldn't guarantee him a starting place - Even Alfie said that he needed to be sure of first team football. In my eyes if he needs to be ensured of first team football then make sure you work hard enough so your current manager has no option - rether than just saying "well this club in Turkey wants me and I know I'll play every week there so see you later"
I don't think anyone would regard Catts as our saviour but we've missed some steel in midfield, he's still on our books and he can provide it! He just needs to channel his "passion" more thoughtfully. I love his passion and get-in-to-them attitude but he's disappointed everyone on here I guess so many times with his red cards. He knows the ref's eye's are on him every time he crosses the white line and he's got to learn from that. I'm chuffed he stayed. Now PDC's got to train him to do a full 90 minutes for every game he starts whilst not diluting the passion he brings to the game! Ki and Catts in midfield!! Bring it on!!!

Catts may not be to everyone's taste and may not be the 'complete' answer to our problems... BUT... He WILL stop us being bullied in midfield like down at C.Palace! My only worry is that the referees will be chomping at the bit waiting for his every 'wrong' move. I hope PDC realises that Catts disciplinary record is 70% Lee & 30% referees IMO.. And gives him a bit of 'slack'?! Can't wait to see him back on the pitch 'getting stuck in'!!
He`s no damn good to us if he`s not on the pitch! Injured or banned he might as well not be there. He can either win us games or lose them. PDC has to get that through to him.
LEE Cattermole has come in from the cold and will be included in the Sunderland squad travelling to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. Paolo Di Canio told the Echo he plans to include the former skipper in the squad travelling to The Hawthorns and that means Cattermole could be be involved in first-team action for Sunderland for the first time since February. The Teessider’s days on Wearside were believed to be numbered when it was made clear that he would be allowed to leave over the summer. But the 25-year-old did not move on and, after recovering from an ankle injury sustained at the start of the season, he has been allowed to return to the fold by Di Canio. Sunderland’s head coach told the Echo last week that the door was open to the ex-captain providing he accepted the Italian’s regime wholeheartedly. And after another week of progress on the training pitch, Cattermole is set for inclusion in a Sunderland squad for only the third time this year. Di Canio said: “We all know what might have happened with Lee during the transfer window and that’s why he wasn’t really included in our plans. “But, at the end of the day, when he doesn’t move, you don’t just stick him in a corner and say he’s not our player. “It’s important you use the squad available to you if you can and to be fair to him, he has shown character. “I am not prejudiced in this respect. “It was the same with Wes Brown – he’s a fine centre-half who I wanted to move on from, but he was absolutely determined to prove me wrong and he came back in pre-season to really impress me and was on the bench last week. “Lee has shown real desire too.
I love that bolded bit - Drive aqnd desirt to prove you are what the manager needs - exactly what Paolo wants anod what Alfie was unwilling to give him
