Seems like i have been waiting all summer for this horse to run. Has been declared and been a non runner at least 6 times that i have seen now, and had countless entries. The horse is Jamaican Bolt 16:55 Yarmouth. It has been well supported a couple of times without running so the cat is out the bag somewhat, but i can't leave it now after so long waiting, and as the ground has definitely come right for it now, and 5f is his optimum trip. I'm expecting to pick up. good luck if you play. 5/2 with ladbrokes, but i'm going to hold out for a better price.

edit - ive took the 5/1 at bet365

BV offering 13/8 against Wentworth in the 15.55 Sandown. Only the soft going can stop him from winning this. Very impressed with this horse and on a sounder surface would be a certainty. Question is though, are those odds generous given the question mark over the ground. I think I would risk the ground if he isn't withdrawn.

I obviously weren't the only one waiting. the 5/1 lasted less than 3 minutes, and the 4/1 less than 10! Hopefully a few got the price.

    15.10 Yarmouth- Ribbons- 9/4

I know hes favourite but there is a reason for that, some random guy in the syndicate came up to me at Goodwood in the morning and told me he will win! I stupidly believed him and put some money on and he won!! :D even after all the problems in the start of the race, she is stepping up into Pattern race company for the first time and she's open to further progression going up to 1m2f

JAKES DESTINY 8-1 4.20 Yarmouth must surely go close tomorrow off a mark of 83. He won a decent stakes race at Ascot last autumn on his favoured soft ground which he looks likely to get tomorrow. His last three runs on quicker ground have all been over too far and this has seen his mark tumble. Back to a mile tomorrow and looks a very likely George Baker plot!

Penitent for me in the listed event at Sandown. The key is give in the ground and he gets it tomorrow. A win bet at 9/4.
Also nicked Hawkeye's Jamaican Bolt and WF's Ribbons, add last years runner up in the Kerry National, Questions Answered, in tomorrow's renewal and that's a nice little win lucky15.
    Good luck all

With you on Ribbons and Jamaican Bolt Chaninbar but looked really hard at Penitents race and decided that Wentworth and Penitent cancelled each other out. I could not back Wentworth with the doubt about the ground, which penitent loves but could not back penitent as Wentworth is still so unexposed and could trot up on the bridle.

Great spot on JB Hawkeye, I have missed the price but still on at 5-2 best odds. It would appear they have been sitting and waiting for this ground, my fear is Judge n Jury who has run very well in better races and so have done a rev-forecast as well, good luck pal.

Morning, one and all. Very nice racing today with the highlight being a couple of Listed affairs. In one of these I really like PENITENT (3.55 Sandown Park) and earlier this morn took the above mentioned 9/4. On official marks the old boy has 9 pounds+ in hand on his rivals and his claims can be enhanced further when you consider that his form figures are -211152 when the form is Soft or worse (these figures include a Lincoln Handicap, Group 2 and a Listed successes plus a 2nd in a Group 1 at Longchamp last October). He also loves Sandown Park and is 2/2 at the venue – this race in 2010 and a Group 2 heat. Looking at Penitent’s rivals, Wentworth apart, they appear badly out of form whilst Wentworth himself, if you break his form down, has only won a handicap off 98 after being beaten in 3 similar heats (2 of which were off lower marks). Penitent does have a poor run last time to overcome but prior to that he ran very decent races in the Diomed Stakes (beaten by subsequent Group 2 winner Gregorian when conceding 5 pounds) and the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot. I think he will oblige this afternoon.

Meanwhile, at Kempton Park this eve I would be shocked if Sir Michael’s PSYCHOMETRY (7.45) didn’t shed her maiden tag. Old girl Radiator’s gallops companion has finished runner-up in both her races to date but should be too classy here.

    Good luck, pilgrims.

It’s now 12/1 bar the 2 in the Penitent / Wentworth battle. Both the market principals being supported like crazy and the other 5 on the drift huge time!

If you fancied something for the Ces I’d have a good check at who’s been taken out, people. A lot of fancied runners have been withdrawn at the latest entry stage. The horse on the left still in though, troops. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more.

    16:45 Beverley - Holy Angel

(A winner once and also a second at this track in 2012 over 5f on similar ground. Up a class today but has a decent chance in this heat. Had a dabble at 9/2 (currently available in four places). Also, a small R/F with Rangooned (who has to overcome an outside draw).

    GL all today! <ok>
