You're all forgetting that Allen screamer against Oldham.

I'm not remotely put off him, I just think its too much to ask too soon. It's not just one game, his positional awareness & reading of the game is still poor in almost every match I've seen him in. I don't want his confidence destroyed because of needs must now.

I really wanted him out on loan to learn it all without the pressure of our shirt.

Kelly has still looked slow of thought & body in the reserves so not near fit enough or sharp enough for the first team yet.

So no choice but to go with him but I still worry .....

Not saying he's in same class or will be but it took a while for some of the best players in this league to get "comfortable" shall we say.....

    Ronaldo
    Pires

are two that come to mind for example.

but i must admit he has looked far from the bullish forward i was expecting tbh

To be fair to Aspas, he's not a number 10 so I can understand his poor performance yesterday.

Does anyone think Allen would have been useful yesterday in terms of keeping possession?

I'd swap Hendo & Suarez around.

I know but it doesn't fit with my picture so I changed it by Dpoll. He's ok with it.

  9. I'd play Sterling and move Hendo inside making it more of a 433.

End of the day, if Ford is out then we are only talking about one game because then Suarez is back.

Of course it's brilliant, but I can appreciate great play without the need to declare "oh my god nothing could have possibly stopped that goal from happening", and if it was scored against Liverpool I would not want anyone stepping onto the pitch for us again who thought there was nothing more for them to learn about football and so nothing they could have done better, or could do better in the future.

Wasn't a deflection, he played it against the defender on purpose knowing it would move towards the keeper.

What a complete and utter load of crap! Firstly it is merely your opinion and therefore there is a huge area left for debate!

Just look at the logic of what you said about attacking skills. IF they do overcome them defending sides ability to prevent a goal being scored then the defending side must n necessity failed to match or surpass the attacking sides skill. Hence a mistake has been made.

Apart from a goal scored from kick-off where only the team kicking off have had possession and the goal being from a piece of skill, I would say you have to look at the turn-over of possession that led to the goal being scored as the starting point.

Was the ball lost by a mistake e.g passing straight to an opponent or from lack of skill e.g inability to retain possession when tackled. If it's lack of skill can that be considered a mistake as surely all professional footballers should have the required skills to retain possession, pass accurately etc.

Because your 'thought' is indefensible. If a goal is conceded then the defence have failed in their duties. Therefore a mistake has been made - end of!
