    Good afternoon all

Myself and Fingi got chatting the other night about an Irish Rrrrsss meet up in the coming months and it was agreed that we would extend an invitation to all the members on this board.
We have agreed that the best date for this is Sat 09 November when QPR will play Reading away at 12.30 live on Sky Sports.
The small town of graiguenamanagh in County Kilkenny has been selected for the meet up. A small but traditional Irish pub has been selected with the compulsory big TV for optimal viewing.
The plan is simple. Accommodation will be booked locally at a very reasonable rate. Irish Rrrrsss will make their own way to Kilkenny while myself and Fingi will collect anybody who arrives to Dublin by plane (you will be collected from and dropped back to Dublin airport). Cost will be kept to an absolute minimum.
Please check your diaries and see if its possible to make it.

    Thanks a lot Nuts.

We are all going to Kilkenny to watch the Reading V QPR match on 9th November. Irish R's from all around the country are invited to come and watch the match. I will bring about half a dozen Irish R's. You never know, the famous Swords might even grace us with his presence. What do you think Swords???

We decided we would extend the invite to the UK based not606 R's to come over and join us. Regarding flights, Ryanair fly from many provincial UK airports to Dublin at reasonable prices (www.bookryanair.com). From Heathrow, Aer Lingus (www.aerlingus.ie) the first flight on Saturday 9th November is EI149 depart LHR 06.50, arrive Dublin 08.05. Return Sunday 10th November EI176 17.30, arrive LHR 18.50. The price for return flights is £90. People would need to arrive in Dublin airport that morning by 9.30am latest as the match kicks of at 12.15pm.

We will arrange cars to pick up people from Dublin Airport and to drop people back to the airport on the Sunday afternoon.. The drive to Kilkenny is approximately one and a half hours.

The accommodation Nuts is talking about is basic. Depending on how many are coming we will check out other accommodation alternatives in the area including Kilkenny City. If people don't want to spend their day in a small Irish country town/pub, Kilkenny City is a very pretty interesting small city 20 minutes drive away.

Everybody is welcome to come to our meet up. We will extend an Irish Cead Mile Failte (100,000 welcomes) to you all.

Who needs to travel to Loftus Road for games and great comraderie? Would love to be there, but Canada is a bit far away, although Dublin is closer than London from here in NB.

I had a great Irish family holiday in 1969 in a caravan, towed by a Rover 2000, although the gearbox on the Rover broke right at end - only had 1st & 4th gears, and we eventually had to be towed by a crazy guy name Rolly (2 trips) to the ferry terminal at Cork for our return ferry ride to Swansea (where gearbox was replaced).

Loved County Claire, staying near a beach with cows grazing on it - at age 16 I remember going across the dunes to little pub with a local mate and transacting a bottle of poteen in the toilets, from another guy named Rolly, for one pound, then stumbling back to our caravan with the wind howling and trying to appear sober as I disturbed everyone and got into my bunk bed. My parents thought the poteen was great in the coffee!

I remember that my Dad used to say that the remote limestone caves of County Claire were prime locations for IRA weapons caches and also training grounds.

Loved Dublin too and all the narrow roads in the countryside where you would encounter a horse & cart with just one or two galvanized cans of milk on it. Also liked the draft Guinness on tap in the little shops, very social and I recall once for a silly laugh, I said to a priest passing me in a little village, "Good morning, Father" and he responded "Good morning my son"!

    Well Belfast

The idea for Graigue was my idea as its my home town. The thought process was to select somewhere close to the majority of Irish Rrrssss who are in Wexford, Cork and Waterford. I suppose no matter where we picked, it was always going to not suit somebody.
We initially discussed Dublin and Kilkenny but felt that we wanted to take any visiting Rrrssss outside of a city environment and bring them to a small traditional Irish town. Graigue is located in a stunning setting and is also only an hour from Dublin.
I volunteered to organise the meet up and therefore went for a location that I was familiar with and that I felt people would enjoy. I know the area and can arrange the accommodation easily. If you have an alternative location and want to plan it, be my guest.

    I didn't say it didn't suit.
I edited my post on 5 occasions while waiting for an answer.
When I couldn't raise an answer, my last line went in.
Does that clear that up for you?

Clear as mud. Sorry couldn't respond earlier due to work.
No problem changing location if someone else wants to do the planning.
