    Welcome Obadiah.

This is what we need...a cross-forum effort that'll hopefully band together everyone who wants to pro-actively fight this nonsense...whilst getting on-board those who may be ambivalent to the name-change and its ramifications.

It's a start, but we all need to band together.all of us.

Would it be possible to get all the fanzinista's, 'Ulltras, internet posters and other concerned parties to adjourn to one specific public house before the main event in order to have a full and frank discussion on the direction of travel of the protest?

The 'Ulltras have been known to gather in the Griffin, this is a large pub with a large car park and would be ideal.
Other pubs are available and may be better suited for this dependent on pre match rituals etc but a meeting in a pub at 1pm on match day couldn't harm, could it?

It would also give some people the chance to come out from behind their position of anonymity and state their position and views. This may not suit all but I am sure many would be pleased to meet their fellow posters and share a glass of beer.

For this to go anywhere at all the infighting and name calling has to stop.

It is about time peoples right to protest is seen as an honourable position to take even if you do not wish to partake yourself.

What I meant when I said 'drop-box' is a place where us out-of-towners can send our cards - PO box no. or address?

Might be an idea to set up a PDF (or some such) which can be printed off - and sent back inside an envelope for Lambo to collect and pass on to the PL?

I like the idea of City fans posting the cards from their home town. But I agree, its something we need to think about.

That's not what I meant Obi....It's easy to put a card in a collection box at the KC (for Lambo to send to the PL) if you're at a game!!

There are lots of us - in the USA/Canada/Australia/ S E Asia/Europe - and we can't manage that, obviously. What we need is an alternative method for 'ex-pats' to get our tuppence-worth in.

    Welcome Obi,
What a great post, good luck with your efforts and I will support in any way I can,
Though I do think Gollaccios idea of squash balls is a great idea and would get loads of exposure.

I am less sure that encouraging people to break the law and risk a banning order is the way forward.

Both demo's have been piss poor. 100-150 for Norwich and about the same on saturday from what i was told. Waste of time. If the name change brings in millions of wonga then so be it.

Hull City AFC during the 109 years has not been that good overall.

I remember when the £1 note ended. Who cares now. A pound is still a pound regardless of paper or metal.

Hull City will always be Hull City to the fans.

Mr Tickler rather usefully contributes to the club financially, more than many others on here do. Just saying!

We're trying to organise a petition to the PL. Does your post help? Has it got anything of use to contribute?

Not this **** argument again- usually trotted out by ex or current local TOP 4 gloryhunters.

Look, if someone said your family have been nobodies for 109 years- no actors, politicians or Nobel prize winners- and we've decided to scrap the family name and erase all trace from the public records because they're mediocre failures, how would you react?

    Happy"Yeah you're right they've no history" ?

    Apathetic and resigned ?

Yeah, who cares what we are called, who cares about our badge, who cares where we play, as long as we get to see premiership football eh?

We need a publicity stunt for Football Focus, I think we should kidnap Robbie Savage and threaten to release him only if the club DO change our name, if we stay Hull City AFC Savage will never be seen again.

Brady's bunch: we would need to make arrangements for the equipment, either somebody not going to the match agrees to come to the event and takes it home, or we find a safe home for it in a pub until after the match.

The French Tickler, a more apt comparison would be the tanner. How many young people know what a tanner is. Hull City will remain Hull City only until the current crop of fans and the people they influence disappear. After that we'll be know by whatever the name the owners call us. How may Manchester United fans call their team Newton Heath?

Finally our history may not have been very good in your opinion but its ours. Its what separates us from all those people in Hull who caught buses and trains on a Saturday to go and watch the mighty Leeds United or Manchester United or Liverpool. Its what makes it so pleasurable to be the best team in Yorkshire. It made us what we are. We do not have to repeat the last 109 years. We respect our past but look forward to a better future.
