I thought Nugent and Vardy was superb

Danny Drinkwater was back to his best and Knockaert showed signs of returning to his best.

Liam Moore superb all round. Dealt with the cheating bastard Fortune superbly

... agree Proud (but after the misses today perhaps you understand my stance on Nugent - all round contribution extremely good - just wish he was a better finisher. Vardy has just about made a telling (goal resulting) contribution in every game we have won - £1m is beginning to look like a good investment.

Agree Proud. A superb performance and it could have been an even bigger win. Agree with you highlighting those players, but would also mention Konchesky. Thought he saved us on a couple of occasions - though it was down the other end of the pitch and my eyesight aint what it was.

If Nuge was a goalscorer, he'd be playing in the Premier League for a good side.

Moore was superb today without Q as was Wes. Everyone played really well tbh, long may it continue.

It's not so much Nuge's finishing as his decision making that bothers me. Today there was one occasion when he should have had a pop at goal but played it wide, then later, when wide himself, took a pop at goal when he'd have been better putting it central! He seems to get caught in two minds all too often. But I think AKCJ has it bang on. If Nuge had the end produce, he'd be in the Prem (and so would Dyer) because the rest of his game is great. He can also score the occasional belter when he's "in the zone".

Vardy and Moore are a real bonus, not too many of us expected those two to be crucial to us this season, but that's how it's shaping up. I also agree with Barwell about Konch, who I've said before is a player I think we should play if he's going to stay. All-round, probably our best team playing as they should... how exciting to hear from Pearson that there's more to come.

We just kept a clean sheet against, and subsequently beat, one of the relegated teams from last season, promotion favourites, and current FA cup holders.

Also currently sitting 4th in the league, 3 points off top.

Happy days all round for me <cheers>

First game I've been to in a while and was very pleased. I thought we completely dominated Wigan, who were admittedly very disappointing. Great to see Moore's reaction after his goal, can't believe the Wigan defending though. I actually thought King was probably our best player, absolutely dominated the midfield- Drinkwater also made some nice passes, and the two of them managed to make a 3-man midfield of former Premiership players (Perch, Maloney, Jordi Gomez) look very ordinary. I've never seen Vardy play so well, he scared their defenders ****less. A very good team performance, I think the team deserves some positive feedback. Shakespeare should take charge next match as well!

Credit where its due, Knockeart was tracking back and helping DeLaet out for a change, this is what impressed me most about his performance.
He was still losing the ball showing off out on the wing, but almost carved a goal out of it when he did it in the 18 yard box.
EDIT: also seems to be the only guy in the team that can take a corner that beats the first man, when he was subbed and we won a corner, no one really wanted to take it.

Thought Dyer looked lost today, think he only got the ball to the byline once, which is where his "crosses" are most effective.

Vardy and Nuge are linking up well, nice to see DD have a solid game, thought that King had an ok game great movement to put opposition about, even if he didn't receive the ball very much.

Concerned about Wood though, Nuge and Vardy were jumping to try and win headers and Wood didn't even look interested. Theres no point in bringing Wood on to hold up play if hes not going to try and win the ball.

With regard to Wood, Allan Young made a very interesting point. He is not backing in or reaching back and finding where his defender is. Consequently, he has a standing jump (when he can bother), whilst the defender can attack the ball. Youngy said he could change him within a week.

Coyle's post match comments were both ludicrous and irritating - he said it was never a pen and that they should have had one when Fortune stacked it.

What a prick. Vardy went down after his heels were clearly clipped and fortune couldn't wait to flop down like a wet towel when he was in the area.

He's just got the arse because he was a crap player and an even ****ter manager.

Hes got a stack of excuses ready, cause hes not a good enough manager to get Wigan promoted automatically this season.

I normally quite like Coyle- he seems reasonable and intelligent in his interviews- but agree that he sounded a little petulant and kind of ridiculous in his post-match interview.

I am only just watching the Wigan highlights.

Bloody hell, how about marking at corners? <laugh> Good header from Moore though...

What made me laugh was not only the marking at the first corner (Moore's goal) but the marking at the second when almost the exact same thing happened.

    Awful defending.
