Agree with that, think we were just coming from different angles Consistency is and always has been the key. This is why you will find me saying I'd rather have a Finnan than Enrique
Amen to that! Swansea have a few doubtfuls for tonight, hoping we have kolo fit more than anyone tbh studge hopefully keeps his run going.
No, of course not, but 3 games is merely a snapshot, save the victory parade until it's a meaningful sample size, 10 games is the normal 'first marker'.
No parades are planned yet, but feel free to not bother discussing football on this forum until after another 6/7 games
Can armchair kopites like you, not manage a football discussion without having to slap a superlative on the table in some inane "we're better than (insert team here)" claim?
Can't bitters like you stop frothing at the mouth whenever a discussion about how we might do this season involves a comparison with other teams that dares to include our strengths as well as our weaknesses? We had a great defence, then spent best part of £30m on defenders, and have conceded 1 league goal since April. We currently have the best defence in the league. Deal with it.
this game represents the 10% mark in the title race for us. As we speak we have done as well as any other team in the 10% and can add 3 points to that. I think 10% is barely a start and think at the 8 game mark (21% gone!!!) let alone 10 game mark 26% gone is the time to talk about how good a start.
Insightful input by our resident camper Tobes, thanks for anchoring us solidly to earth! It is clear that we 'currently' have the best premier league defence and since we can only discuss what has/is happening we do look pretty solid so far. That's not to say it can't change but, that's why I said tonight has to count... Back to being bitter Tobes!
For me, if we win we definitely get 3 points, definitely. So we should try to win, but we can't lose because you don't get any points for a loss. If you draw you get 1 point, but 3 points are greater than 1 so we should try to win.
Yep, that's why attacking is absolutely vital. But we need to defend too, because that is also vital.
Agree with the first part, but only if they sort it out. That plan pretty much relies on Kompany playing and staying fit. If he does, they'll win. If he doesn't, they'll screw up and underachieve. Arsenal, though, have two CBs worth anything but a keeper who doesn't inspire confidence and two fullbacks who aren't anything special. They also don't have much depth there. If Koscielny gets injured they'll be saying the Our Father every night until he returns. Never mind their lack of a quality holding midfielder to protect them against the big teams. Arteta/Ramsey are great against smaller teams when they can dominate possession but not so good against teams who'll attack back. Flamini was a free agent for a reason; I don't recall him being in high demand either. He's alright, but definitely someone who can be replaced (but not by anyone in the squad). Anyway, worst case scenario; we get smashed tonight because our lads think the job's already done - we still stay third. I'd like to think we will get the 3 points though.
He's an Everton fan. Its been bred into their genetic makeup similar to how dogs became genetically domesticated over time. Thus, they have no control over their bitterness.
