If your goal of the season is to finish above us, you probably need to raise your sights a bit.

Wycombe are the last team i want to to be playing first off. In fact i would not want to face any of the promoted clubs.

The teams coming up will be brimming with confidence off the back of promotion and good runs.

I'd rather face one of the relegated sides from the championship!

Dead right, Franco - my memory's not great these days but didn't we play Wycombe when they'd been promoted in the first game a couple of seasons ago and just win it by the skin of our teeth?

And we only just scraped a win against newly promoted Bournemouth in this season's opener.

I also remember a very awkward opener against Scunthorpe when we'd been relegated from the Prem.

We've played newly promoted teams at home for the last four years or so as our first game. If memory is correct, it was 2 wins and 2 draws.

West Hsm weren't newly-promoted in 2006 Martinho, that was their second season back in the Premier League. But yes, it is odd that we've faced so many newly-promoted sides in the first match of the season.

With Powell in charge 15th, with a decent experienced Manager, in the play-offs.

I said about a year ago on 606 that we'd probably be facing Stevenage at home due to us being relegated to League 2

this is still possible albeit through a League 1 fixture instead

if its stevenage get your players to wear extra shin pads ,oh and by the way you will have 8 mins injury time added onto the end of each half for all their antics during the game.dirty bstards hope you thrash them.

i'd like an opening away game in the North West please!

I would like a game that isn't against one of the newly promoted sides, just so we don't embarrass ourselves.

If we finish just behind Wycombe we might be looking at L2 by the end of the season! ;)
