AA has to dis-associate himself from the council.. so would you rather drop the word city, or move to Melton?
Out of the two I'd prefer to move to Melton. Then AA has an excuse just to call us "The Tigers" In fact, "The" is too common. "Tigers".
From a selfish point of view, I'd love it for us to move to Melton, it'd be much closer to my house and to Leeds. But from the general view, it'd be a shocking move, it would lose some of its association with Hull itself and would cause more problems than a name change.
Although I support Papa on the name change (as other clubs have done it in the past, and if we want to talk history of the club I would hope those protesting against this also protested about us moving to the KC stadium - as to be play at a sponsor named ground was something our forefathers and their forefathers would be turning in their graves at) BUT to move the club to Melton (or another location outside of Hull) is something which even I would not be able to support Papa on, it would be going down the MK Dons route and that was wrong - Hull (insert whatever you want Tigers/City AFC) should play in Hull.
I think it's more likely that our forefathers and their forefathers would still be turning in their graves if we'd passed up the opportunity to go from the fourth tier in only five seasons thanks to a new ground sponsored by a company for which many of them worked. They can rest in peace now- we've achieved what they never saw for themselves in 108 years.
I'm pretty sure being called Hull City AFC, Hull City Tigers or Hull Tigers has some association with Hull, no matter where we play.
