    Evening everybody,

Charlton this Saturday, I can't wait and I am actually buzzing. I see this written all the time, but now is time after three home games to actually start really showing this. The 1881 is now part of the ground/stadium set up, most will agree that we have made a little improvement.
Something that has struck me this week is the divide that Watford have as a fan base, we need to forget division, it doesn't matter if you count yourself as a 'casual' or a '****' or an 'ultra', we are all inside that ground to see Watford win, let's start showing the passion that we have. Bring your scarfs, shirts, whatever you want that's yellow and sing loud. Dresden, Dortmund, Aris these are teams that you look at their support and marvel at them. It's time for us to do the same. We can do this, we just need to let go of our inhibitions.

Come three o'clock on Saturday lets all stand together, no matter if you are ****, casual or ultra.

This could be us, we can do anything that we want to do.

I'm an ultra casual **** so all bases covered.

Nah, with you mate. Much better than last season and it'll get even better with time, effort and supporters getting into it.

After years of crap + near disaster of Bassini every Watford fan should be singing night & day let alone at matches.

I just realised that i follow you on twitter and that i read you on WFC Forums. Im Willyworthworth on twitter

Times are changing, we need to be loud. We need this atmosphere to change. We arent lil ole watford anymore, im told that in the late 70s and early 80s when we were seen as a 'family club' Graham Taylor tried to get rid of the 'edge' and as such the atmosphere died and has doen ever since.

We need to bring an edge to Watford, that doesnt mean violence, but passion is allowed and that is allowed to come out of your body. Lets all sing and be proud of Watford our team. I dont have to like you, but for 90 mins we are singing together for the same purpose. Zola wants it, lets give it to him.

Aah, thought I recognised that name from the 'other' forum but didn't know you are WWW on Twitter!

The atmosphere was MUCH better late 70s/80s, raucous and a little 'tasty' at times (not condoning or encouraging violence here) and that gave most games tension, that edge you mentioned.

Not just GT though, all over the country our game's being sanitised and passion sucked out - did you see Saturday jobsworth stewards suddenly demanding everyone sit down? Kudos to the guy in front of me who told everyone to stay standing - pretty soon the stewards sheepishly sulked off.

1881 is the right thing at the right time, won't be overnight or maybe even one season but the seed is sown. Bit flat on Saturday but TBH when the performance is poor no matter how hard people try fans do get despondent, kind of "if the players can't be bothered why should I?" syndrome maybe.

i was stood directly to the side of the argument, and had to speak with another guy that was asking the drummer to stop drumming and that he has and will continue to complain that thet drum is being used.

I dont condone violence in anyway, but this is football and you cant create and edgy atmosphere without a little passion and aggression.

That sounds like a nonsense - have the club themselves anything to say on the matter? Surely the very fact that someone with a drum is allowed to enter the stadium implies that that they have permission to use it for its intended purpose...

The club have given the 1881 its blessing. They have given the group permission to use the drum, to have the big flags and to stand up. But some of the stewards dont seem to understand this. Its people like him that need to be given the address of thw local library and asked to jog on.

Sounds like a communication issue to me. I'm all for an increase in the atmosphere and I back the 1881 movement but equally I wouldn't particularly want to sit next to a drummer if I hadn't been warned and allowed to move if I wanted to.

Totally agree with this. personally i'd ban drums from grounds as they do my nut but they're there so nothing we can do about it. I wouldn't want to be in the same stand though.
