    The national team is in deep **** and with Fellaini's arrival, is Cleverly's future.

    So its time we look at the English players in our team, since United has always been one of the main if not the main service provider to the national team.

    Rooney: a lot of fuss during pre-season but Rooney is still the man for England, and a vital player for us for at least this season.

    Welbeck: Despite lacking in goals, he's featured quite regularly for both England and United. Our product, bright future with both club and country, though his position is still not determined.

    Cleverly: No frills tidy player but no standout quality. Made a promising start but his future with both United and England looks uncertain. Should we give him more preference or is that it for him if Fellaini excels.

    Jones: No doubting his footballing ability but needs a good run of games. Ought to be played as a centre-back to help realise his full potential. Imo, playing out of position has played a part in him getting injured. Future hinges on him staying injury free.

    Smalling: His growth has almost stopped as he's been quite average for a season now, after starting quite promisingly. Injury is to blame as well. Needs a couple of season before we decide if he's the real deal. Reduced game time because of Evans too, who is a more solid CB.

    Young: Was prolific for United in his early days and England's saviour too. Been a bit of a joke since. His physique and occasional diving do not help his cause either. Age not on his side too,its now or never. Good luck to him.

    Carrick: The quiet hero, he's ben our fulcrum for some seasons. Impeccable injury record, guaranteed first team, why not with England is still puzzling. Had most pundits crying out his name after Gerrard, Lamps and Wilshere put in a **** shift.

    Zaha: nth to say, raw unproven but lots of potential and time on his side.

    I think the rest of English players are irrelevant for this topic.

    This is embarrassing, no replies. There it goes, one pointless reply from his almighty myself. On the topic of the thread, Young further ruined his reputation yesterday. Else, nothing new.

    And why is that? Is it because of the Scousers and the Chavskis in the team.

    I'm not overly concerned with how it affects the national team to be honest, they've used and abused our players for dcacdes so I honestly couldn't care if we never supplied them with a player again were it not for the fact that would mean we had an entirely foreign first team!

    It's good to have an English core though so answering with that viewpoint I would say;

    No, I find England play boring football, I dont care what team the come from, they just need tp play with a little passion (yes a few players do, most dont)

    United have always provided players to the national team. But it is indeed a long time since so many key and young England players have come from a single team never mind United.

    I am quite proud of that fact. United will always look out for the best talent here and abroad and bound to have quite a few foreign players. But the champions of England without or very few English players (which has happened I think with Arsenal) is to me quite bad for our national game.
