He must be the biggest prick ever. He makes cheating scum like Young look good, at least he wants to win the game at all costs. Bale's primary motive for scoring is to get his trademarked 11 of Hearts celebration on all the TV cameras so he can generate image rights revenue. It's a disgusting corruption of the traditional values of football and I don't know why action isn't taken against him. If he lifted his shirt to advertise a brand that would not be allowed so why is there a loophole for his fingers? P.S. his team didn't even win.
I least I don't need to see that ugly mug on my TV every week doing the 14 year old girl heart sign. Small blessings.
One of our summer signings, Pozuelo, does it when he scores (though Poz's seems more genuine) . It seems Bales copyright may not be nailed on or his lawyers are not bothered as Poz's image has appeared across Europe and the Daily's doing it A court case would disastrous for the image but the 'brand' gets diluted. Every player should do it to piss em off. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/08/22/article-2400333-1B6A6F53000005DC-518_634x531.jpg I have to say Bale's effort at the heart last night looked forced and cynical as it was clearly an afterthought. Apart from that, he seems a tidy guy and is a crackin player
Exactly, no joy, just desperation to find the camera, and when his teammates were all going in one direction he headed in the other to get another photo from journalists.
There is only one famously repeated celebration that was synonomous with a single player that deserves copyright, but he was far too old school to consider such an action .....hands up who has ever done a Ravenelli?
Anceletti should ban the bloody heart. Though do we really have the right to complain? please log in to view this image
When fans do Sturridge's dance, he gets out of his car and joins in. When fans do Bale's celebration his intellectual property lawyers send a cease and desist order.
Dont particularly like Bale. He is just naff with his pink baseball cap, loveheart sign and greasy hair. Classic modern day footballer. Was pleased he scored though for some reason.
That'd be an interesting thread. Who had the most famous individual celebration? Alan Shearer or Robbie Keane perhaps?
I don't quite get where the 11 comes from in his celebration... Understand he wears number 11. Unless he has 11 fingers which he uses to do the heart Also, although a bit pedantic, technically he is advertising a brand, something Bendtner got fined for playing for Denmark in the Euro's. So do sort of agree with that point in the OP.
It doesn't. It seems to be a common misconception that Bale has trademarked his celebration for which I blame the idiotic way that it was reported. Most articles even had a scan of the patent request which clearly showed a sketch of the logo he planned to use and it even specified the clothing it was to be used on, yet they preferred to give the impression that he's trademarked his celebration. All his patent stops anyone doing is making a load of hats, T-shirts or crotchless catsuits with the logo from his patent request on. Yes the logo uses the heart celebration he likes to do but it has his shirt number in it as well and it's clearly intended to be synonymous with him. Bale has no more trademarked his celebration than Ronaldo had trademarked his shirt number by using it in his "CR7" brand. There's no way he can claim royalties for doing the celebration or sue anyone else doing it. Storm in a tea cup basically. I'd make a case for him being an alright guy too but some people just seem to hate him no matter what.
