It'll be unfortunate when Neville ends up being a good manager somewhere and he ceases to be the only worthwhile pundit in the Western Hemisphere.

Yep, good read and thoroughly justified too. I like the fact that he's able to say he was wrong, as well. Hopefully, he'll raise the standard of punditry before he becomes a full time manager.

Great piece from a great football man. I remember Monday Night Football last year, his analysis of how we outplayed Chelsea at SMS, how we did it and why it was effective...focussing on our strengths more than their weaknesses. Got a lot of time for Neville and can't help but feel SRL has a lot to thank him for too

Gary Neville turning out to be an articulate, knowledgable, likeable and accurate presenter goes against every bone in my body; but it's true. He is very good and that is a pleasant read.

Have huge admiration for Neville. Right from the beginning his knowledge has shone through and he combines it with having the courage to voice his opinions. He isn't bland and can state his opinions strongly. He also isn't a pundit who fawns around the big teams (which you might expect with his ManU background). This is a great piece about us and, unlike many articles, does not include inaccuracies that has us spluttering and reaching for the green ink. I also like his admiration for Lambert, especially as he is on the England coaching team. Hodgson said that Neville told him that Lambert would get the winner when he was put on against Scotland.

Great article. But - and I might be wrong - isn't Omar Rowe American?

Great article. Gary Neville might make a good Southampton manager one day, if Poche gets lured away.

Born in England but could play for Jamaica because of family.

Thought there was a Jamaican link. What i have seen of this boy is quality, such raw pace and his corners are something else.

Yes have to admit I'm a Neville fan now. Wouldn't have believed it possible when he was playing.

Nice to hear a view from a knowledgeable football man instead of lazy reporting in the papers or Lawro or Hansen with their narrow minded views.
Got to admit it though, disliked him as a player..totally respect him for being a top pundit.

Omar should opt for Jamaica rather than England if he hopes to win anything<whistle>

Gary Neville is by far the best pundit around. In a way he is bad for football punditary as he makes you realise how bad the rest are. I cannot watch match of the day without cringing now. He should open a Neville School of Talking sense for the others

Funny how I used to worship Shearer & Le Tissier and despise Neville & Claridge on the pitch.

Now I respect the opinions of the latter pair higher because they're incredibly passionate about the game and do their research.

I hope Neville is given the power in this game to implement some of his ideas before he loses his energy and becomes old and cynical.

I fully agree with his valuation and that the root to improve English football is to embrace the premier league and not fight against it with quotas etc

It was an interesting article...no doubt about that. I have to say he does sound as if he knows what he is talking about especially when he is on air. Others are suggesting he will make a good manager, it would be impossible to say but he does talk a good game. I think we would all agree it is one thing talking up a game but another implementing his idea's...

Gary Neville has been excellent ever since he started Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher is also going up in my estimations too.
