What pleased me most about today is how much we can keep hold of the ball and dominate teams. It's great to see us not playing like England! Plus if everyone was fit we could have put out this alternative team today: Friedel Fryers Chiriches Kaboul Naughton Sandro Capoue Holtby Lamela Defoe Lennon And still had Adebayor and Chadli on the bench. That is fantastic strength in depth as good as any team in the premiership. And i think Lennon, Capoue and Chiriches aside, the other 8 should all start on Thursday.
Maybe Boss but what I'm going on is the huge pressure he'll be under and even more now that he's scored. He started slowly with us and now he's started at Real with a bang...hmm, will he maintain it?
The pass from Eriksen caught my eye, it must have been a late call to him from Siggy, cos he can't have known he was behind him and doesn't appear to look, but it was the weight, Sig didn't need to break stride. Foreign players do this so much better. We watched Wilshere and Walcott over or under hit every pass they made midweek.

one of the real big plusses today i thought was danny rose. he showed that he does have the capability to be a quality left back. to be honest, his all round game is probably stronger than walker at the moment. and talking of walker, it crossed my mind earlier whether avb might be thinking about using kaboul at right back at some stage.
Don`t try to rush it, you have a lot of new players to integrate and at the moment it is going really well. You are the only team i have seen that worry me this season so far.
One of the best game's we've had under AVB, in my opinion. This was the kind of style and dominance I think a lot of us were hoping for. Sigurdsson gets my unreserved apologies after slagging him off and Eriksen was fantastic despite my concerns about him being a risk to play too early. Rose deserves a mention too, he's not spectacular and far from perfect but damnit he's trying and doing a good job of things too. Infact our whole defence deserves a pat on the back, there have been errors at times but conceding 1 goal in 4 games is very, very good.
6 if you include the Europa. What an earth has happened to Spurs?! Clean sheets are just not the Spurs way! AVB, what have you done!
Lamela has only had 2 or 3 training sessions with the lads TMT, he arrived back from international duty a day later than everyone due to the distance and no doubt he'd be feeling the effects of the flights. That said I'd have liked him to have had more than 10 minutes today, Norwich weren't troubling us and Townsend didn't have the best of games, would've been a good time to "ease him in" on around 65/70 minutes in my opinion. Luckily we've got Tromso before Cardiff so hopefully he'll get a start and begin to find his feet, if he impresses then I reckon there's a good chance we may see him in the starting XI come Sunday.
Thank you Diego, I think the way things are going we do stand a good chance of the title. Now I'm hopeful that things will get better because we still seem to have a bit of a problem with our goalscorer scoring ie Soldado scoring by penalties and not in open play. He is paid to do a job and if he isn't doing that job then it's not 100% right that others paid to do something else do his job for him and other strikers too. Now I think with with Lamela Solly would get better service and we'd see both of them on the scoresheet more. I do think that AVB dithers a bit,not a lot but a bit as he did with Lloris who threatened to leave unless he was played. Sexy I said last week that Lamela should start before Townsend because I think he's better and will take Bale's place with no problems at all. I'm certain that he's itching to play and so he should as you partially agree. I don't see the point of 10 minutes, it's always baffled me. The only real problem that certain posters thought we'd have in our next six was Chelsea who lost yesterday, admittedly only by 1-0 but an opening win against Hull when they didn't score in the second half, a lucky win against Villa with a deflection, a 0-0 v Utd and a 1-0 now tells me things are not right and we can take three points off them. If a team is cruising at half time ie 2-0 or 3-0 up and then FAILS TO SCORE in the second half I see that as a form problem for them and I don't know why others don't see this. I don't see Eto'O and Willian as saviours for them either. Mourinho looked worn and worried in his interview yesterday and unless form improves he'll be out of the door by Christmas.
For all our great start, Stoke are 2 points behind us, as are Newcastle, two teams which are meant to be trash, so that tells you how little current form is in trying to predict how successful a season will be. Before the arsenal game some said if we beat the goons were title contenders, we lose and these fans say we're going to get 4th.....now are we're title contenders? or if we lose next week are we back to hoping for 4th.
