    Today's the day.....

I heard from Deon last night, they should be at the pub by 1:30.

    See you all later....

(Hopefully Nines has had a quiet night shift.)

I'm five minutes away from not getting called out. If it stays all quiet on the western front I should be down there early doors. Looking forward to it.

have one pint for me, gutted not to be there, but my bathroom renovation after water damage cost "only" 12.000 €, didn't leave me with much travel money to make it :emoticon-0106-cryin

Just to say a BIG round of applause to Roller for organising a real special day in memory of Brix.
So nice to put a few more faces to board names (Sorry it was mostly just a quick hello), and very special for me to have a long chat with the lovely Pat and great lad Deon (Please both of you keep in touch). The emotion Pat was feeling after Rollers speech was there for all to see and truly a wonderful moment.
Seeing the write up in the programme was the icing on the cake.
Once again a big up to all those involved.

Glad everyone had a great day, with an R's win to boot!

I've just gone through the same water damage thing, after detecting a leaking black ABS wastewater pipe (actually 3 cracked join collars) behind the kitchen wall in a tight R2000 home that had been ongoing for many years. Hidden behind the wall, mould & insects (carpenter ants) were found with rotted load carrying beams, so a big job.

Luckily insurance picked up the $40,000 repair tab, but it was a very disruptive summer in the kitchen area and basement bedroom below. Felt good when the RSA adjuster, a young Croatian, indicated, "You have been insured with us since 1981 and have never made a claim - I'm going to take good care of you on this." He even waived the $500 deductible and with RSA shock waiver, we're allowed one claim without affecting our premium, so better to make it a big one. In UK my Dad always used RSA (Royal Insurance), and a "silent" agent for his building contractor clients, dating back to my grandfather, with the annual renewals, Dad used to get a nice commission cheque year.

It was great to meet you all today and it was a very nice way to pay tribute to Brixton. Pats words were very moving and what a nice man Deon is. It was also good to meet our Irish friends once again, and also Beth (with or without her B).

All in all a great day, even if we didnt play very well, we got the result, and Brixtons day was complete.

I wish i could have been there - I have yet to meet any of you. And I apologize for saying on another thread that it was a good weekend mentioning Everton and Stoke but not referring to this tribute, this day. It would have been great. Mrs Maple is in Lewisham right now, but although I tried, I was unable to convince her to go in my place

I enjoyed meeting you all today, good work roller.

I wandered around the pub, eavesdropping on conversations, trying to work out who were our lads and lasses. Eventually, I heard someone introduce them self as SB.73. So, I met Stan, roller, nines, Col, sooper, goldie, nuts, uncle Jim, Beth, Norway, Wubba, corkeR, Tramore, N22, who's a mate already and more I think, plus of course, Pat and Deon. I made it just in time for Pat's heartfelt words. I then spent the game in Z3 with everyone and it was a memorable event. Thank god that we won!

I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you and loved the moment of putting a face to the name. Meeting Pat and Deon just reaffirmed what I already knew about Brix. Loving, honest, interesting people.

It was a great turnout and a fitting toast to Brix. Really enjoyed it.

    Cheers everyone.
