Its laughable to see the criticism on here of either Laudrup or Rodgers - while both have their flaws they also provided us with some of the best years in our history and considering the dross weve had to put up with over the years we should be pinching ourselves that its got this good!
why quote that rodgers was also bad.....rodgers is not our manager and all you have done is agreed that laudrup has been worst.. Brilliant...he he..
Your the one that goes on about Rodgers day in day out, you have no real response do you Dai boy As usual, you try talking your way out of it with utter ****e. Always going on about how Laudrup isn't as good as Rodgers, and bring up the 12 in 45 stat to try and prove that point, when shoved in your face with FACTS (something you claim to live by), you question why Rodgers is being brought up, you really are comical.
I see martinez and his tikka takka put paid to chelsea's game plan to day......you know im right im always right......listen to the voice of reason you mere mortals know it makes sense...
its ok Dai, Laudrup is superior, he beat Chelsea 2-0 at their place mere mortals only beat Chelsea 1-0 Although Everton did deserve the win, Chelsea were pretty toothless up front.
chelsea with all their superstars were the better team but the best teams don't always win if you have a manager who has a game plan and knows what he is doing, I watched the whole match and everton's tikka takka 5 yard passing won the game...
you have to have the right players to be able to play short passing. wigan tried but were rubbish at getting all their players being able to do it, chelsea played well and should have scored and were clearly the better side but everton's game plan was to keep the ball so it would limit chelsea's chances. Chelsea would have slaughtered them if they never did that. well played martinez i say for out foxing the special one and his superstars. Lets hope laudrup has a game plan against liverpool and its better than he has shown since he has been here or liverpool will give us another lesson like the last time we played them and nobody wants that.....
So it's better to judge a certain strategy based on one game and not a whole season, because in that one game the team had different players? I don't get it.
yes you have to understand the game of football to get it.. Its ok if you don't understand as not many of us do at the end of the day.....
Lol. Ok then. I guess my "you have to watch several matches before judging a team" theory is me being ignorant. There's lot for me to learn.
Looks like Scottswan is in full agreement with you Dai: from his latest blog on 'The Swansea Way': "Coming into this game I'm less confident than I was ahead of the Spurs and Manchester United games. Despite a quality showing at West Brom, we need to "revert to type" to a point and look to retain possession and build from the back. Once we've got the team playing fluidly, the chances will come and it's important for the team to acknowledge how much our continued top-flight status owes to our possession game. Even though West Brom looked a shadow of the team of last year, we showed enough to believe that those elusive wins are just around the corner, and that continued belief in Laudrup's footballing philosophy is well-founded. We finished the game having had 58% of the possession, and it's no surprise that our first win in a while coincided with our best showing in terms of ball retention so far. While we have an increasingly talented crop of players at our disposal everything we've achieved so far has been based around our team game, and I feel we've gone away from that somewhat to a game which relies more on individual skill and less on keeping play ticking over by retaining possession at the back. For their part, Liverpool have, of late, been doing exactly what I've just spent two paragraphs banging on about." http://www.theswanseaway.co.uk/ His "Supporters Trust Forum - The Lowdown" blog (3rd one down) is quite interesting.
I firmly believe we must up our passing game not with just liverpool but against every other team in the premiership. we will have more success doing that than the way we have been playing over the last 20 odd games. the fulham game was the last straw for me as before the match laudrup and players were saying in the press that they are disappointed with past results and we must win this game to finish on a high. we not only lost the match we were out played everywhere by a team that could not buy a win for months previous.....it was then i said if we don't revert to what we do best then we wont be in the premiership for much longer...
