Giroud seems to divide fans more than any other player at the moment so I thought Id do a poll to judge how many people think he is good enough and how many think we should try to buy better. Its as simple as that.
I don't want him at Arsenal, full stop. it's insulting to us to have such an average player leading the line.
Scored 2. To be fair, even Bendtner would score a lot with Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere, Theo, Cazorla etc. supplying him. Giroud's going to be the most average player to score 25 goals in a season.
Look - I've always said if we want to compete with Europe's best teams we need a Top striker However.. Giroud offers more then he is credited for. He does'nt have the touch or technical skills of an elite striker but he's a good 20 goal a Season man. He work his socks off, is strong, good in the air and has a decent shot on him. Bayern Munich have shown that a workhorse and a TOP class creative midfield can be a very effective combination. If we do add a striker it should be someone stylistically very different. A skillful ball playing forward like Suarez or Rooney would be my first choice. Gives us more options.
Bit hard on Mandzukic. Why would the best team in the world settle for an average striker? Mandzukic is quality
He's no better than Giroud - No Way. He also gets picked ahead of the much better finisher that is Gomez. Because he works soo much harder, does much more for the team. I'm just saying dont overlook the usefulness of a player who gives their all everytime they play.
And Gomez plays for Fiorentina, which means it's hard for Bayern to pick him now. I imagine they'd get some stick for it.
If I was to choose the striker to replace Giroud I would want someone in the mould of Ibrahimovic or Drogba - tall, good in the air, powerful, lethal in front of goal and (the one Giroud lacks most imo) scares the **** out of defenders. I know that's easy to say and we'd all want someone like that, but if we could find a player in that mould I would be delighted.
We could have offered Lewandowski £800,000 a week wages and paid a £200m transfer fee and we still wouldn't have got him, was never an option
Never say Never. He wants Bayern but .. Im sure Dortmund want to stop that from happening. He could still go somewhere else.
