In a lot of championships your chances depend heavily on the team you drive for. But in FR3.5 you have the three championship contenders all in different cars, all with teammates who are nowhere. Brilliant!

Formula Renault 3.5 Series evaluating 'celebrity' race

Boosting coverage, trying to out gp2 gp2?

The Formula Renault 3.5 Series is evaluating the feasibility of a non-championship 'celebrity' race, which could include drivers with recent Formula 1 and IndyCar experience.

Sources at Moscow Raceway last weekend stressed that the project is only at a conceptual stage, but AUTOSPORT understands that more than one former grand prix driver has expressed interest in the project.

He's a very talented driver from the looks of things, but he needs nurturing.

Looked real quick while he was leading. He's just caught and passed Stevens for 4th, excellent drive this, started 10th.

Huertas drops it at the last corner and stalls in the middle of the track. Safety car. Could give Sirotkin a crack at the podium, he'd been lapping a bit quicker than Melker and Magnussen but was miles back.

Did you see what happened to him in race 1? I was looking on Autosport and he retired on 11 laps, just wondered if it was the car or driver error.

Good work from Sorensen if he does take the double win <ok>

How on earth did Aleshin win the 2010 title? Just...how?

Well he was in there for 3 seasons already, no different to Pastor or Valsecchi winning eventually when you're the most experienced on the grid.

What has happened to Da Costa this year? Having an absolute shocker, Magnussen's relative consistency should see him win the title now. Nice to see Will Stevens performing well recently.

I think da Costa needed to make the step up to F1 at the end of last season and now he might have stagnated somewhat. Of course, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes - if I may get all conspiracy theory, perhaps he was promised certain rewards for his performances last year which have not materialised.

Da Costa isn't very far off being kicked off the Young driver program IMO.

Red Bull will be mad to drop him, but it'll be hard to promote him to F1 after this season. It's not their style but they should put him in GP2 next season, give him a change of scene and get him doing some more F1 testing.

Crazy race in Hungary. Full wet conditions and a mixed up qualifying which was ended early meant that there was a mixed up grid, Da Costa's absolute nightmare of a season goes from bad to worse after he hit Aleshin (suprised he retired, it was just a tap). Nico Muller put in a storming wet weather drive winning by 26 seconds from Magnussen who drove superbly coming from 16th on the grid to finish second and pick up yet another podium and extend his championship lead.

Vandoorne was fourth and a word for Carlos Sainz Jr who came from the very back to finish seventh with a number of impressive overtakes. Also interesting that the Eurosport commentators were suggesting that Da Costa's place at Toro Rosso could be in jeopardy, rumors are that if Sainz performs well enough from now to the end of the season in WSR and GP3 he could be a serious candidate along with Kvyat who's been in great form in the last few races in GP3.
