I think 85k is half of Adebayor's purported current wage- so some are speculating that we'd be chipping in that amount were he to come on loan. There's no way the guy would be brought to the club for those kind of figures though. If spurs are 100% not going to using him, and it's 100% that nobody other than us wants him, then it makes sense for all parties if he comes to us and we pay 30k a week or something.
You really think Levy will do that? It makes sense but theres no way that will happen because hes not an idiot like Beard is.
According to the Sun, he's only on £80k a week at Spurs, there's no way he'd be on the same £170k he was at Man City. If we can get him until January on anything up to £50k I'd be more than happy. One thing is for sure, we do need another striker!!!
Ok, stands to reason that would still be the case if he came to us right? We'd have to cover his Spurs wages, possibly just 50%, if they want him out? As an aside, I see on Assou-Ekotto's twitter account he describes Adebayor as a "brother from another mother". Could be influential if we are after him. Would be a great signing for a few months if we can get him.
With his connections, if 'Arry could get tight wad Levy to cover a portion of that (50%?), could be great season long loan signing for us, that would certainly help propel us back into the promised land of the Premier League? Would certainly provide us an alternative striker outlet, to our crocks Zamora & AJ.
Wasn't Levy going to give us a special "championship fee" for someone (possibly defoe) ? Then when a PL club came in for him, the price was raised. Maybe he'll do his chum Arry' a favour. I do wonder if the general consensus of "no" to Adebayor is still the same after Hoillet's injury today. Wouldn't be surprised if he's out for a couple of weeks, and AJ told a journalist he'd be out for 10 days himself.
