Oh btw from comments on Arsenal.com it looks like Sagna sees himself becomming a CB, looks like this will be the option ahead of buying in a new CB. So i recon next summer we may see a new RB comming in.
Superjackwilshere that is a 1999 photo surely !, and would you say our stadium (SAFC) is better than Newcastle's !. We lost the first 4 games in the championship about 7 years ago and got promoted that season, so it is early days yet, but selling Mignolet and Sess was a disgrace. Mavrias, cabral and Johnson should do well this season for us.
Bendtners not fit but after Wenger bigging him up I think he could be on the bench tomorrow. If Mert is ill I expect Sagna will move over and Jenko come in as TV is not fit, but he could figure on the bench as well. We really did need to sign more players didn't we!
So bloody annoying. We have had zero luck on the injuries front since the start of the season, before every game a few players seem to drop out. When you consider these problems, we have actually done well to win four of our five games this season. As mentioned, if Mert is not fit, then we have to move Sagna into the middle and play Jenkinson at right back.
If that's the case we shouldn't be waiting until next bloody summer, but should get a new RB in this January, we're still short at the back, what if Sagna has to fill in for CB and Jenkinson is injured, who then plays RB or CB? We're bloody short and should've made the signing in the summer, and now at least January, not wait for a god damn bloody year!
Injuries suck cock, but if we made the 4-5 signings we were all calling for, then the injuries wouldn't seem as bad.... We were all saying that if injuries hit this squad, and it has, we'd see how short and thin we are, .
Injuries happen, but ours are just annoying more than anything. Yesterday, Mert and Ozil were fine and ready for the game, but now one is out and the other is a doubt.
The weather is piss here in London, hope the conditions aren't terrible up north tomorrow. At least Ozil might get the proper introduction, he's already come down under the weather, a first away game to Sunderland, up in the north, with very **** rainy conditions. Welcome to the EPL Ozil! Now comes the million dollar question, can Ozil handle himself on a cold rainy windy night in Stoke, because that's become the established criteria of Pundits on Sky in determining whether a player is world class or not.
Just had a thought. Who the hell is captain tomorrow? Verm's out, Arteta's out, now the BFG is out. Sagna would be my guess, but he's apparently turned it down before, so at this rate Theo will be captain. That would be dreadful.
Walcott wouldn't be a bad option, he seems liked by his teammates and he has been around long enough to know what is required of him and the team, not sure he is in the best position to be captain though. I prefer a CB or CM. Maybe Ramsey will get the band for a game as reward for his good performances? I agree with Sagna as the next obvious option though.
Mert is only out for a single game with illness and Verm is comming back to fitness, so for now i think we are actually alright at the back. We have quite versatile defenders who can cover each other so hopefully we will be ok. This season we will probably see Sagna tried more often as a CB to see how he does, if he looks good then a RB will come in but if he doesn't look up to it maybe we will bring in a CB, who knows. Personally i think he will do well and we will bring in a RB. Only time will tell if we should have signed a defender now or wait.
