So camp your little protest outside the council gates so they give him what he wants, and you can stop worrying about moving to Melton.
I agree, but if your best mate shagged your wife, you wouldn't forgive him just because he then set you up on a date with a woman who was good in bed.
Keeping the name isn't irrelevant. Our club name is attached to our recent success. Do you think Huddlestone came for the Hull Tigers? The club wanted to discard CC in the summer as there were better options available to Hull City AFC but CC insisted on taking up the available option for a further year. Do you think CC are our only sponsors? "attendances as always will be dictated by the success on the field" As will increased income from abroad, although I'd add "sustained" success. Shortening the name will not, in any way, increase income from abroad. If it did Manchester United AFC would of changed their name to Man U Devils years ago. I'd guess you've attended one recent home game, & maybe a few between 2008 -2010 & will be one of the first to bail when we're relegated. Soon found this site after promotion didn't you? You've still not confirmed whether you support the change or not.
On the contrary, I've been going to City since the 90s but do not look back through that period with rose-tinted glasses. Some of the football we played at Boothferry Park was no better than a Sunday League team. I have said my piece on this numerous times. I don't mind Hull City Tigers. I don't like Hull Tigers but will accept it. My happening on this site had nothing to do with promotion. I saw someone refer to it on the HDM comment. I will as most supporters continue to call the club City. The reason I comment on this particular topic is the venom that is stirred up against the Allams. They excuse this by saying first that they are grateful for what the Allams did but what then follows shows no gratitude whatsoever.
So, you don't support the name change but you accept it. Yet you attempt to ridicule & belittle those who feel strongly enough against it that they choose to speak out & try to stop it. Speaks volumes about your character, sad man, very sad indeed. I'd guess if AA changes his mind you'll suddenly have been on all the marches & got your dad to write a letter of protest, it was all your doing. As I say, sad, sad man. I don't see any venom (there has been previously, but that was long before you came onto the scene), the majority are in the main supportive of the owners. There are some who have not trusted them since NB was sacked & have been consistent in their opinions throughout. Do you think we should support everything they do just because they saved the club with a gift donation (at 5% interest / year) to pay off the debts? This doesn't mean we have to agree with all they do, all the time. That would make you a "Yes Man" which I guess you are, a sad, sad yes man. I pity you, you're weak. Do you honestly believe they are beyond reproach in all they do?
Well...tell you what.... you carry on crying about the engravement on your imaginary cup that we've yet to win, and then feel comfortable in the fact that you have the audacity to use the term sad when discussing other peoples views.
You don't have views or opinions. You said it yourself. You only come on here to give people grief for having a pop at our owners. You're a proper Hull Tiger, one of the new breed. ****
er...no I have views and opinions. You just don't like them. Which is of course your entitlement. All minority views including yours are welcome. That's what makes us a democracy after all.
You don't actually put forward any opinions of your own, you merely criticise the opinions of others.
The name should be sacrosanct, it is our historical reference point, it is something to be proud of, not some pointless marketing tool. A truely good businessman would have kept it, cherished it and built a dream around it. He tells us he is a good businessman, he tells us he knows best, he says he will run it as a business. He has loaned his club the money to survive, he takes interest, he saw a good proposition that he had been following for a number of years. I disrespect the man because he disrespected the supporters; I'm currently a supporter. Why? Join in the debate; folk have been known to change their opinion Hmmm Mischievous posts, but hey ho . . .
