We haven't had blue shirts since the mid-40's, and that was for practical reasons. Also, in what way are the colours of our kit more important than the name of the ****ing club? Would you be pissed off if we said we were going to celebrate our 125th anniversary by wearing white shirts and black shorts, as we did in our first game? I know I wouldn't. Would you be pissed off if we said we were going to change our historical name, which has never altered in 109-years, because the owner has had a childish spat with the council about buying a ground he thinks - wrongly - that he has a God-given right to own? I know I would, and I am, because we are.
Army? who mentioned an army? Does a protest have to include a march? There are many kinds of protests, many have already started, many will continue in various forms for as long as it takes. Are you that pro change that you feel the need to ridicule the supporters who find the name change wrong & choose to try & change it? Or just a sad **** with nothing better to do, say or contribute? As you've made approximately half of your posts on threads regarding the name change perhaps you could enlighten us as to the positives of the change? Some detail would be nice, will it improve us as a team? Will it attract sponsorship? Will it increase income? Will it increase attendances? Of course it would be beneficial to your argument if you could back up your answers with details of how, & provide some business evidence that these suggested improvements could not be achieved as Hull City AFC. If you don't support the change & are apathetic in challenging the owners then, again, why do you feel the need to attempt to belittle those that aren't apathetic & choose to fight the change as it's an issue they feel strongly about? Answer the question above, how do you know the protesters are in the minority? No need to answer because we all know you don't know. You're speculating. One good point made on one of the previous threads on this subject, I think by Erik, questioned if we managed to pull off a Wigan or Swansea & actually win a trophy how would people then feel seeing "Hull Tigers" engraved in the cup? I know I'd be gutted.
I agree with this. but I won't go as often, not because of the name change, because I can;t afford to anyway
Jesus christ... you're getting upset about a cup we haven't won yet because the engraving on it which you'd never get to see up close anyway was omitting one word. Get a ****ing grip
You missed my point. All I'm saying is every now and then an owner tries to change things, but in the end it doesn't last unless the supporters adopt it. In five years from now Hull Tigers will either be a paragraph in our history or it will be our name because the fans eventually decided they liked it. TWT
Maybe you could find your way to not arguing, against those that do want to make a stand ? Surely that's not asking too much ?
I think you are either trying to wind people up or just on a completely different wavelength to most people on here. Its just hopeless arguing with you. Like has been said before if you are not bothered by the name change then just don't comment on these threads and let the rest of us just sound off about it as much as we like please.
Is that it? Your lack of answers highlight to the world your dearth of opinion, knowledge & intelligence.
For me it's simple. For whatever his personal reasons, Allam chose to invest in the club. He was in a queue of 1 at the time to do this. Although he is wealthy, he is not so wealthy that his company could continue to write off any debt amassed by the club. Now even if there was an ulterior motive at play in the fact that somehow Allam thought he could turn such an investment into a profit through either owning an extremely successful sports village, or owning an extremely successful football club then that is the chance he is entitled to take by risking his own investment. The reality is that Allam does not have sufficient funds to purchase the KC from the Council, OR build an alternative stadium at Melton. And when you turn up to the KC tomorrow, please remember the fact that it was him who had the foresight to bring in Steve Bruce, it was him who has backed Bruce with sufficient funds to put a team together that was capable of getting promotion, and it was him who has sanctioned Bruce to spend a large part of the Premier League income on putting together a squad that is now capable of competing in the best football league in the world. So please remember this before you go disrespecting the man because he does not share your passion as yourself for the name of the club.
Very poor effort, that has only reinforced your lack of opinion, knowledge & intelligence. So now you've got your regurgitated bullshit out of the way. Yes, he saved the club & we're grateful. Now how about some opinions on the name change. I mean you ridicule other people's opinions so what are yours? Answer some of the questions posed obove or are they beyond your limited intelligence? You really are showing yourself up as a bit of a wind up merchant & a lot of a ****.
will it improve us as a team? Why would changing a name or keeping a name improve the team? Irrelevant. Will it attract sponsorship? Who knows. If the only sponsorship that AFC attracts is Cash Converters then anything is worth a go. Will it increase income? See above answer Will it increase attendances? Of course not, and attendances as always will be dictated by the success on the field. For those saying they will stop attending, then this will only be relevant if we get relegated as there will be plenty of "plastic" supporters to take those die-hards AFC should the team remain in the Premier League. Let's hope you are so short-sighted in your view that you hope the team are relegated because they have changed their name so you can smug about it and stay at home on a Saturday.
What name change? It is and always will be Hull city AFC as far as i am concerned. The pair of planks can call them whatever they like. I support the team and players and that won't change either.
OK, that's a fair point of view given what I have said my position is. I don't think there's a wider audience than the few who post on this board but I'll agree not to discuss this subject again on here.
His mistake was appointing Barmby in the first place but that was probably forced on us due to the timing of Pearsons departure. Don't get me wrong, Barmby is one of my heroes for coming back to the club when he still had a couple of Premier League years left in him, but he wasn't ready for Management.
I do, it won't. Nobody thinks it will, I don't even believe Assem thinks it will. This whole thing is being driven by a spat, it has nothing to do with the success of Hull City.
