Montenegro are 27th - can somebody please point this out to the English press, please?

 

England has been eroding steadily since 2002 when IMO they were the second best team at the World Cup, beat Argentina and lost to Brazil in exciting 2-1 games. The results have only declined slightly, but the quality of play and the ambition have gone pear-shaped. If we would only talk about one game, drawing away to Ukraine is a mission accomplished. But when the team plays dire football in the Ukraine in the hopes of playing dire football in Brazil, it's hard to get too excited.

 

England are 4 places below the US in the rankings. That's 4 places below a country that plays soccerball. Is that how far England have fallen or is it anything to do with Coca-Cola sponsoring the FIFA rankings?

Belgium 6th, Greece 12th, Switzerland 14th

Bubbling under: Bosnia-Herzogovina 18th

And France are 25th!!!

 

It's all because Coca-Cola sponsors the ratings.

 

Stewart Downing has 34 England caps. That is why the USA are ahead of England in the FIFA world rankings.

 

More of a symptom than a cause, in my opinion. Seems like quite a lot though, doesn't it?

 

I tell you what, once the US realizes that there aren't playoffs and draws won't bring on the Rapture, the sky's the limit!
