Stoke City midfielder Steven Nzonzi can be revealed as the Premier League star being hunted by police in connection with a roadside altercation with a cyclist. The incident has led to an amazing Twitter campaign backed by Sir Chris Hoy to identify the player, who is alleged to have laughed at the cyclist and told him âgood luck finding me on foreign platesâ before driving away from the accident in his luxury car last week. Wow. Our midfield was solid with him in it.... we really needed him this season The earliest that I have seen is that this was 3 days old and I have heard nothing since, so wonder what is happening :O
I always thought if you drove into the back of another vehicle then it was considered to be your fault, bike or car is irrelevant.
It's a general theory, but far from 100% and the article linked is written to make it look as though the cyclist ran up the back of the car in flowing traffic when the reality seems to be different. In this case, reading the accounts from several sources, the footballer seems to have been paying little consideration to other road users, pulled across straight in front of the cyclist and braked sharply, leaving no time for the cyclist to stop before hitting the car.
You would never get it 100% accurate unless you were there and if this wasn't a footballer it wouldn't even be news.
True, that's why I asked a guy that was. It wouldn't have been news if he wasn't a **** driver and an arrogant fool either.
As others have said, if you go into the back of someone, it's generally your fault. Having said that, if N'Zonzi overtook and then pulled right in front of him, there's not much you can do to get out the way. Recently I've seen quite a few cyclists causing near misses by not leaving enough room, creeping down the inside, running lights etc, and as a cyclist myself, it does my head in, giving me a bad name!
