After watching Soldado score against Chile, and watching all the goals he volleyed in last year, I would prefer Chadli to start, as he's shown he can get Soldado the ball where he likes it. (I was part of the "Chadli is crap" brigade; I'm now a one-man "Chadli is talented and dangerous even if he does annoy the crap out of me at times due to excessive showboating and lack of focus, kinda like Nani" squad.) Dembele and Paulinho are the "two" players we have that are completely fit, and looked solid against CP. I like the ideas both of splitting this week's game time between Holtby and Eirkisen, and treating every game the same until we get our starting lineup worked out.
I'm a fan of Chadli too mate so don't worry you're not alone . I just thought he'd have a bigger impact, I've seen glimpses of what he can do though and prior to Arsenal, he was joint second in chances created in the league. As for Holtby and Eriksen sharing game time Saturday, I think that could be interesting. I've said previously I do expect Eriksen to become our number 1 attacking midfielder down the line but hopefully it'll give Holtby a kick up the arse and we'll start to see the best of him whcih'll give AVB a nice headache.
Adebayor returning to Spurs on Monday after compassionate leave, apparently training with the reserves...hope he knows thats coming! Vlad still waiting for work permit clearance.
Thats a good comparison with Nani, both have an over inflated Ego, both think they are better then they are, and both don't know when not to show boat. Nani has proved he can be spectacular on his day and there was one season after ronaldo left where he looked like he could meet his potential. Chadli? we will see what happens and I expect he will have a great game soon but if you look at the Belgians in our league, most are inconsistent.
That's Belgist, Boss, and also bollocks. I challenge you to prove that Belgians are any more inconsistent than any other nationality.
Bloody hell, it's getting tough to post here. I make up the stuff I write, not going even try to prove it!
Can't be proved but Belgium have a talented squad yet Dembele, Hazard, Miralas, vermalen, even verts for me are all talented yet inconsistent. Not saying its always the case, as fellani, mignolet, and lukaku where consistent but as a nation I reckon they will be one thats hugely talented yet like the Dutch too inconsistent. Plus I'm still running the Chadli is crap campaign LOL
Don't be silly my friend! no way to prove a nation is inconsistent as thats just a view, but I expect in years to come Belgium will be the country everyone classes as outsiders yet always viewed too inconsistent to win anything. As for Chadli, hes doing well with Opta, yet according to Opta, Dembele is consistently good, who do we trust? our own eyes or optajoe? ill go with what we see as we all know Dembele is struggling.
Is Adebayor training with the reserves out of the ordinary or is it just what our unfit players do now? Holtby's played for them twice, Parker had a couple of run-outs last season and anyone returning from injury has to prove their fitness in games for them, as far as I can see. Spurcat's mentioned it being part of our medical teams' outlook, so I'm not sure if he's being punished or just going through the standard motions.
Anyone have any idea why Chiriches is still waiting for a work permit, by the way? He's got 20 caps at the age of 23, he's Romania's captain and they're ranked 31st in the world (easily top 75) and it seems that he's played more than the required number of games in the past 2 years.
