    That's me <ok>

It was The Unit's employment tribunal yesterday. We won. She was awarded £9,811 for unfair dismissal. Now we just have to get the money out of the horrible ****. That's the first time I've had something go my way in court. Mind you, the court was on Vernon Street in Liverpool.

What are your courtroom experiences? I've had plenty, but I want to hear about yours. Not you though Enricky. Not interested in juvenile court cases <whistle>

Spent a small fortune getting a case to court banning my ex from taking my kids out of the country years ago, when I'd heard she'd bought the airline tickets & was planning to take them to live in Dubai (a place where you've got no chance of ever getting them back)

Prohibited Steps? Been there Tobes and still paying for it, financially. All in all, over three years, I went through £20k, all slapped on to credit cards and loans. No complaints though (except that she was on legal aid at every step) and I could have had full residence at the end, but I went for 50/50 endorsed by the court (the judge was ****ing reluctant to stamp it - bitch), with the knowledge that though we'd eventually 'won' we knew that as she was on legal aid and would just keep coming back at us every 18 months or so. It worked out alright in the end: she lives ' a mile away and the daughter went to school roughly half way between our homes.

Meant I had to pass over a lot of promotion opportunities over the years that would have meant moving, travelling and longer hours, which was okay till I got one uberbitch of a manager about eight years ago who left her kids with her house husband and couldn't/wouldn't understand any manager not dedicating 24/7 to work and career. irony is she was a HR manager who would have screamed blue murder had a female manger in my position been put under that pressure. the famed 'equality' of the law courts and the workplace nowadays, eh?

As to Employment Tribunals and hearings Red, been there a few times and have won more than we've lost. Helps being in a strong union and at ET's we have a barrister representing us. And when I see all these zero contracts, the diluting of employment rights (are we trying to compete with Africa and India ffs?) I can't help but shake these young people and tell them to fight for their rights or they'll be like a northern version of Manilla soon. I truly dread the workplace my daughter will be going into (she wants to be a paramedic or nurse). We have kids working in Costa on the station with masters' degrees and £30k student debts - all on zero hours contracts. Shameful.

Being from South Wales and the capital of Disability Benefits we'll assume you're more familiar with ATOS assessments and appeals.

Agreed. I was lucky as I have a mate who's an employment law judge and he basically did the lot for us for a Donald ***en and a Neil Young CD. It's not what you know. The **** won't pay, so it'll be County Court next and bailiffs probably.

Dongo - been through that same mincer years ago mate, she ended up moving 150 miles away & wouldn't lift a finger to assist in the childrens right of access to me, so I had to drive a 300 mile round trip on a Friday & the same return leg on a Sunday. She tried pulling the Dubai stunt & I had to seek out a specialist lawyer who was an expert in child abduction cases to the Middle East, who got an ex parte injunction agreed by the judge, which was then couriered up to her area & delivered by a local bailiff on the same afternoon & all airports were alerted.
