They are mammary glands. They should be judged on their functionality only. I am unsure whether hers have ever fulfilled their function of lactation. Or through attracting a husband which is their other function.

    Celtic History Podcast

Series of ten podcasts charting the history of Celtic Football Club

Episode one is now available Friday, June 7th, 2013

This collection of podcasts will cover the history of Celtic Football Club from our humble beginnings to present day. In each episode, in a series of ten, we will interview guests and discuss the progress and development of the Club and review how it came to be what we now know and love. Throughout each of the shows we will also chart the history and development of the stadium, the kit and many other areas of interest to supporters of this great Club as well as giving all supporters their opportunity to join in and be part of, not only the history, but the present and the future as well. Hopefully this will not only educate you and entertain you about the Football Club, but also give you an insight into history itself as we will put into perspective the challenges, the successes and the failures that our historic team experienced from 1887 to today.

To continue on in the footsteps of the Club’s Founding Fathers, we are asking for donations to the project from all the listeners. Each guest will nominate a charity and at the end of the series, we will divide the funds raised among the ten charities of choice. ALL monies donated will go to these charities and no-one involved has either asked for a penny in return or will receive a penny in return despite the huge amount of time committed or product supplied. We would like to thank the whole team involved for their contributions and we would like to thank everyone for downloading the show and contributing, no matter how big or small. After all, this is the reason why we have a team to follow today and it is fantastic to see the traditions of feeding the Glasgow poor in the 1880’s continue to the wonderful world of the modern age of the internet. We hope you enjoy this proud and unbroken history of the greatest Football Club that, we believe, the world has ever seen. Hail Hail.

    Episode One

    “From Desperation to Celebration”

In this inaugural episode we are joined by Jim Blythe and Paul McQuade from the Celtic Graves Society to cover the period 1887 to 1900. We chat about the formation of the Club, the opening of the first stadium and the creation of the team. All this is set against the backdrop of the desperation of the new Irish immigrant who continued to struggle to find a place socially in the Glasgow of the 1890s. As the decade wore on, the local population in the East of the City finally had something to cheer about and be proud of.

Listen to Jim and Paul explain the boardroom battles of the time that makes the 1994 takeover sound like a tea party as the Club develops the first stages of professionalism. However it was on the pitch where the most significant progress was made as the first heroes to wear the hoops started to emerge. Names like James Kelly, Johnny Campbell, Sandy McMahon and “The Wild Rover” himself, Dan Doyle rolled off the tongues of the ever growing army of Celtic fans and we look back at a team that won a total of 15 major trophies in those first twelve years.

As our first guests, Jim and Paul nominate the first charity that will benefit from this series and that will be Archdiocese of Glasgow Arts Project.

We are asking everyone that downloads the podcast to donate one pound, fifty pence or even a fiver for the episode, but really anything you can afford will be greatly appreciated and ALL monies raised will be given to the ten worthy charities at the end of the series.

    Celtic History Podcast Chapter Six

    "Making A Stand"

In this Sixth episode we are joined by Paul Brennan from the Celtic Quick News to cover the period 1950 to 1960. With World War Two over, Scotland wasnft the land of milk and honey as promised, but a country still struggling with rebuilding and rationing. Celtic were rebuilding too and enjoyed a relatively successful period by clinching a double, the Coronation Cup and destroying Rangers 7-1 in the League Cup final of 1957. At first glance this sounds like success but the 1950Œs promised so much more and the trophy haul was a poor reflection on a team with great talent yet poor leadership.

Off the pitch the Club were faced with some of its biggest challenges since its birth in 1887 as the fundamentals of the clubfs identity came under attack from the authorities. Things came to breaking point and a stand had to be made and thankfully for once the hierarchy of the Club stuck to their principals and stood firm. Despite these distractions the building blocks were being laid for a team that would go onto better things in the years to come. A man named Stein is signed and the blueprint for success was starting to be drawn up.

There is also the History of the Stadium, History of the Celtic Shirt, interviews with players of the time, all your Fan Stories, Confessions and much, much more.

As our Sixth guest, Paul nominates The CLIC Sargent Childrenfs Cancer organization as the nominated charity and you can learn more about them at http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/

We are asking everyone that downloads the podcast to donate one pound, fifty pence or even a fiver for the episode, but really anything you can afford will be greatly appreciated and ALL monies raised will be given to the ten worthy charities at the end of the series.
