This, if we can keep 11 players on the pitch 2 or 3 to 1. Huddlestone, Koren et al will pass Cardiff to death.

With all due respect, the Man City defence was an example of 'How not to defend', it was hopeless. We could have been 2 or 3 up at the Etihad in the next game Man City played after their visit to Cardiff.

Bit hypocritical, when everyone on your prediction thread thinks you wont lose either. You lot seem to be underestimating us also.

As 'ull fans what do you expect us to say? We aren't all Erik.

Man City's defence is ****e, we ran rings round them but couldn't finish which worries me. Brady and Elmo are just as good as Whittingham and Bellamy.

Don't think people are underestimating you. Cardiff are a decent side but if you have watched any of our games you would know we have been brilliant so far so I expect us to play well again. Obviously you might win but it's not like one side has a huge advantage. I expect a good game with us controlling the play in midfield, you will probably score from a set piece or on the counter with someone like FC. I reckon 1-1 or 2-1 to us.

Funnily enough, if they go in they do.

You don't get the point.

I said that i'm not worried on set pieces with the way our defence is playing, and during a direct free kick, what can they do if it goes directly in?

Really ? So there's no chance we'll give away the odd free kick in dangerous positions ? Think again.

You're still ignoring the point. Which I posted below it.

"I said that(2) i'm not worried on set pieces (1)with the way our defence is playing"

Your two points are totally contradictory, even disconnected i.e. mutually exclusive.
1) Our defense may well be playing well.
2) Our defense gives away free kicks in potential scoring positions. (at least 2 goals scored against us this season).

As you said, a well taken free kick - even the best defenses cannot prevent them easily.

By all means don't worry about (1). You should worry about (2).
I am not missing your point - I'm pointing out your point(s) are illogical given the experience in our 1st 3 games.

You mean the dance move vs Chelsea where they all tip toed to their right to allow a clear shot from Lampard? Someone concedes these free kicks too

You don't get many points across very well!

You mean where Ivanovic pushed into them? And where the ball went nowhere near where the wall was?

Your statement : "you are still missing the point - i'm on about defending DURING the set piece."

THEN SAY IT WITHOUT IMPLYING WE SHOULD NOT WORRY THAT OUR DEFENCE CAN DEFEND AGAINST set pieces, because CLEARLY they have NOT.

Your initial response to Oldsparkey’s comment:
OS: “Watch out for the set pieces though - I reckon these could be our match winners this season”
Macca’s response “With James Chester, Curtis Davies and Maynor Figueroa playing like they are, I'm not worried on set pieces”

Macca ? - What are you trying to convey with that statement ?

Our defense is so effing good we’ll not give away set pieces ( i.e. Chester, Davies & Figueroa or ANY OTHER player for that matter) ? We have done, and we were punished .
OR
If they or any other player gives away a free kick, no problem, defense will overcome ?
(n.b. tough to defend against excellent free kicks….you said it yourself….” and during a direct free kick, what can they do if it goes directly in?”)

Take a course in logic @ Hudders, may come in handy for sports journalism…maybe not !
Just don't assume someone misses a point if the point is fallacious...

Reckon it'll be 2-0 to us, McGregor to make some cracking saves, but reckon Hudd and Graham will get on the scoresheet.

Yes, but you weren't were you? I watched a lot of the first half online before I left for our own game against Everton, and I agree with you to an extent - I thought you were playing really well.

The problem is that despite them having "a ****e defence" as someone put it, you couldn't put it in the net past them and they did past you. Claims of supermen at the back to keep other teams out will need a bit more than a few games to pan out, and you sure haven't proved it yet.

Saturday should be a great occasion for both teams playing each other in the Premier league after coming up together from the Championship. A repeat result of the last game of last season wouldn't surprise me, but I can't seeing it being the same scoreline.

A 0-0 or a 1-1 at most with maybe a single goal win for either side. Obviously I'll go for a 0-1 for Cardiff.

BTW, whoever said that your two guys (Brady and Elmo?) were as good as Whittingham and Bellamy needs counselling. <ok>

Brady is better than Whittingham though.
