Yes, and looks who selects and unselects the coaches; the Sweet FA.

The same people who wouldn't give Clough a go and the crowd who decided to sack Robson as he was leaving to take England to the sem-final of the World Cup.

This was in the days when the national side mattered. Now it'sa poor second fiddle to the money fountain of the Premiership. The whole institution is rotten to the core and more untruths have come out of the England camp than from the boardroom at StP: "picked on merit blah, blah, blah", "New broom blah, blah, blah", "Exciting times blah, blah, blah"

I have never seen anything so insipid for so long and, yet, it continues. The rot started with Sven's clique of players and it's never stopped since. I would love the job to go to someone who cares and isn't frightened of the press.

They don't deserve our respect nor our support. And, oh, another inspiring result last night. Bloody Nora.

A half empty Wembley recently would point to others sharing this view.

If we picked only Championship players they would stand a better chance of at least looking like they cared.

Reckon that'd deffo restore interest. Also If we want to be lowering the fans expectations, things like this would be the way to go

Is it just me or is supporting England like supporting Newcastle?

Full of head scratching and disappointment?

I lost all interest in 'Team' England in the 2010 World Cup. Capello stating that he would only pick players in form then trotted out the same old faces with a half crocked Rooney leading the line. It was plain to see from the off that Rooney wasn't up to it, yet Capello persisted with him. I don't blame Rooney, he actually wanted to play. The manager, however, was a spineless git who was too scared to drop him.

I missed both of the recent England matches, I just really couldn't give a hoot anymore!

It will be interesting to see how much the Premier League clubs will 'work with' Greg Dyke on restoring some pride to the national team. Unfortunately, I fear, it is lip service. If it starts to even look like it will harm the cash cow that is the PL then I'm afraid we are doomed.

The PL may be astute enough to realise that a larger selection of domestic talent would end up lowering their costs in the medium term. Every academy player that makes good is a multimillion transfer fee saved (or, if you're Newcastle, a multimillion pound transfer fee earned). I would expect there to be lukewarm semi-effort cooperation, rather than lip service backed by an absolute lack of action.

This bit has always bugged me about England. How can players who are the fiercest of rivals week in week out, suddenly turn into bestest buddies when they turn out for England?
I know, I know, they're professionals blah blah blah! It just doesn't sit easy with me. I couldn't do it.

It's the nature of international sport, how do you think Spain do it, no more fierce rivalry than between Real and Barca. It's always been the case that rivals play with each other and always will be.

The fact that the best players in a country come together to play with each other is the beauty of international football.

When England play in next years World Cup, which we will, majority of English football fans will get behind them like we always do. Most fans like myself don't have expectations that we will win the WC, but, doesn't stop you wanting them to do well.

Support England, you never know you might like it.

    Come on England

Nah! I've seen enough England matches to know it's a waste of time. Don't get me wrong, I'd be over the moon if we did well in Brazil. Sadly, the truth is, I will watch our three group games, watch us scrape through unconvincingly, then go out with a 'brave' performance against Germany or Spain. Ho hum! Same old, same old!
