Agreed! I've not seen the lad play but if those that have say he's quality (not far off from being ready), would it not be better for him and us to get him playing regular first team football with the big boys rather than reserve/U21/academy football?
Ya, think we should do this. I know we wanted to do the same with wisdom but now with the injury can't. Think we have enough cover to get him those minutes and he seems a player that Harry would love, Mcdermott at Leeds, Atkins at Reading ( brought through shaw and the 16 year old CM at Saints).
He's now in the first team squad so he could make a couple of appearances this season off the bench, or perhaps start a cup game....
I wouldn't say Johnson was **** at all. He was a beast for us up till last Xmas. I've said his form is completely off and he has deserved to be dropped on occasions. Seemed to work on Enricky.

Wisdom would do a much better job than Sterling, and no disrespect to Notts County but they're not a PL team, Sterling would get raped at RB against a PL side.
Notts County are the only team to score against us this season, and Wisdom was part of the defence when it happened (ball watched for their equaliser). The guy is a CB - we really should have got him out on loan to a lower Prem or top end Championship club with the caveat that he needs to play at CB. You can tell he's just doing a job at RB as when ever he gets the ball his first thought isn't to go forwards like Johnson but to look sidewards.
But he's our best option at RB atm with Johnson out, Kelly is ready so shouldn't be rushed. I do agree with you though.
Maybe we should have brought a RB to cover for Johnson rather than 2 CB's what with our only other specialist RB being McLaughlin!
