Putting local rivalry apart, well done to Frank Lampard for reaching 100 caps. One of the few with an old fashioned attitude to playing for England. It's a shame that JD isn't starting, he has similar commitment.

just as an example up here in Scotland, ive managers and staff rushing off to watch the Macedonian game! In England if we're crap, fans lose interest.

I've also come to view international football as an unwelcome distraction after learning to appreciate the game by watching it. It's funny because so many things which are wrong with football can't be wrong with international football: money has only a second-hand impact, and very few players switch sides.

There would be more fans if more teams played like Chile, who look dynamic, creative and passionate in leading Spain 2-1 in a friendly.

Soldado scored for Spain, heading in powerfully, though in truth Chile's keeper managed to fumble a ball in that hit him in the chest. It's nice having Spain's striker, not to mention Argentina's rising star, Brazil's midfield, three players from an excellent Belgium squad...

Feel dirty saying this, but Walcott's probably my favourite England player. He's come on a lot this last year.

Milner and Wilshere are going to cost us. They're both sleeping, not woken up yet.

He needs to get tighter on his man, but he is not having a disaster. Don't look right in red though.

Cahill and Jagielka the best two players on the pitch, a little worrying.

Well this is awful, if Lambert's going to have to come deep all the time, because no one else in midfield is looking to get the ball, then we need someone beyond him. Get one of the 3 ineffective centre mids off and get Defoe on.

Cole is having a worse mare than Walker, what was he doing running all the way across to Kyle Walker 1st half?? <yikes> The pair keep losing their wingers, the back four shape is all over the show, Rio or Terry would be screaming and you wouldn't be seeing it, PK and GC aren't the same. Lambert looks a little bit lost, looks like he's only in for set pieces, Defoe for the last half hour. Oh, nearly forgot, the two Arsenal twats couldn't pass their way out of a telephone box, why couldn't they do it that badly v us!

    Ashley ****ing Young <doh>

He'll probably play a blinder now but I fail to see why he's worth a pick and an inform wide player like Agbonlahor isn't.
