If you are sentenced wrongfully to prison in Denmark the state is forced to compensate you for time spent in prison. A couple of friends and I had this debate earlier today and I was shocked to learn, that the danish law in this regard actually isnt a standard throughout the rest of the world.

Many american states give you nothing and just put you on the street if you are found innoncent during your incarceration, I can not in my little brain get this to compute at all. I then searched for UK rights on this matter and I couldnt find much relevant information, but according to the following case you have to sue for compensation, this sounds absolutely ridiculous to me.

The judge stated : HE IS NOT INNOCENT ENOUGH!!!! <---- This sounds like something from a fantasy world to me. Either the guy is guilty or not in a court of law, there is no maybe. Most of the comments related to the article from various people agree with my oppinion.

.... All my life I just presumed that people were somehow compensated for wrongfull time spent in prison ... well, I guess there are a lot of things I dont understand.

He was a bit odd - obviously guilty
He lived near her - obviously guilty
He liked Freddy Mercury - obviously guilty
He liked Ms Dando - obviously guilty
Didn't go to public school - teach the oik a lesson
Looks shifty - Worth ten years
Although proven not guilty I wouldn't past him - obviously guilty

The idea we have a fair and justice legal system is laughable.

As his sister states neither he or the Dando family have had justice.

You are probably right, this is outright depressing to realise.
