We always seem to produce them, thinking back, gazza, bryan robson, scholes etc, nobody jumps to mind in our current crop
Wilshere is one of them imo, for a player who has been out injured so much he is still a class act, imagine where he would be now if he had them 2 seasons extra in him apart from that Rodwell/Chalobah come to mind
Won f*ck all with them in the middle tho. 100 odd caps each and cometh the big tournaments we bottle it. Not just blaming them 2 but to be honest, them, John T and a few others should have been kicked out a long time ago. Should have sacrificed a Euro championships to blood a load of youth allowing them to gel ready for World cup qualifiers etc.
I agree, the system hasnt worked for any england manager, bit like having 2 sessegnons to accomodate, how do you leave either of them out? Both outstanding players but together its difficult to make it work
Of course you would, not saying that, its a heedache at international level, far beyond the sessegnon issue but similar in a sense
