Clearly Sir Alex has people in the media working for him, that must be why he gets slated every time he opens his mouth.

You are such a paranoid idiot, believing everything you see in the media <doh>

Its easy for Modric to say he is commited to spurs as there is no reason for him to rock the boat and its easy for levy to say no bids will be accepted but as we have seen in the past, when a bigger and more successful club openly shows interest then as soon as the player gives any hint he will go if a bid is accepted then he is sold.

Now, our fans aren't going to turn their back or cause a riot if a big player is sold, all that will happen is there will be moans and fans throwing hissy fits but when it comes down to it we will support the club, even if our best player is danny rose! as that is what fans do.

Anyway mate, remember we have had better players then Modric down the years and lost them and bounced back so I don't think the world is about to end if we lose a star man as all players can be replaced.

Its going to be an interesting summer and I expect Man Utd to make a big bid for either Bale or Modric, possibly both and if they make a bid then I expect they will be sold regardless or what anyone has said and that is the nature of the game.

Did the press slate him for his patently illegal conduct in the Berbatov transfer?
Did he get slated for his "typical Germans" comment when Bayern knocked you out of the Champion's League a couple of seasons back?
Does the press slate him for his childish, rule-breaking spat with the BBC?
Did the press slate him when he compared Ramon Calderon to General Franco?
Did the press slate him when the legality of the Paul Pogba transfer was open for debate?

If anyone is a paranoid idiot, it's the person who has to throw wild accusations about people who dare question Alex Ferguson.

I'm sorry but I can't take seriously someone who is so thick they believe everything in the media so paranoid they think a rival team's manager controls the media.

You need a reality check, seriously.

I don't see it like that at all!

I see it that we will be challenging Man U next season for the title. That's if our chances aren't sabotaged by Man U who will want to weaken our threat. Our key player being poached from under our noses will be a complete disaster and will set us back years just like the last couple of times it's happened.

Just rolling over and taking it because it's "inevitable" is for you mate. Not me.

Rough translation: You cannot answer the question because you're wrong, so it's best to resort to chucking around insults.

What a sad little man you are.

Your a fan, just like me, this has nothing to do with our own personal beliefs as if it was down to the fans we would never accept any bids for our top players but as this is the real word and money talks then you have to accept that Modric will be off if Man Utd make an offical big money bid and there is no point in throwing a hissy fit over it, if that happens as that would push us even further back.

As for challenging for the title, nice thought but again rather naive as there is zero chance of us making a title challenge, that is 2-3 years away and that depends on us keeping the squad and adding to it which is going to be extremely tough.

I've decided to let you live in your own little World where you believe everything the media feed to you and are ridiculously paranoid that the same media are working to undermine your club.

    I don't know where to <laugh> or <doh>

@ Bigjohnny, No offence mate but i'm glad your not the spurs chairman or manager because you would just accept because United are the bigger and more successful club that when they bid we must accept their offer.

Sorry but spurs are a different club to the one we were when Berbatov left for United. Yes were not in the champions league next season but we will be challening that top 4 spot. Spurs teams in the past were not as good as now and our players can see the direction the club is heading hence the comments by Luka Modric. We have had champions league experience and our clubs reputation has gone up just on our Quarter final champions league run alone. You keep saying we would accept a big bid but you seem to forget we don't need the money so why the hell would we take another step backwards by getting rid of our best players...... makes no sense at all for a club looking to get back into the champions league and eventually challenge for the title.

Yes we all agree that United are a bigger and more successful club than spurs but they don't have the god given right to have any of our players because "it's the way it is"...... No it's the way it is because we make it the way it is. If we actually stop our players going to these clubs then it would put a stop to this whole issue with losing our best players. Can't beleive you see positives in losing a player like modric. We certainly wouldn't bounce back i can tell you that and we would take a huge significant step backwards because other players would want to follow modric out the door once the club shows it has no ambition. Oh and trust me we may be supporters but i know for a fact a lot of supporters would turn their back on the club in terms of investing their money if Modric or any of our Key players get sold. We won't put up being lied to and invest our money in a club that builds up our hopes then brings it down by selling our star players to improve teams above us. Mnachester City don't do it nowdays and neither should we. Bale and Modric won't be sold regardless of a united bid or Not!!! It almost seems like you want it to happen....

Ferguson doesn't control the media and I don't think that anyone believes that he does.
He clearly has a mutually beneficial relationship with some journalists though and it's extremely naive to believe otherwise.

The Sun has actually been quite late to jump on this bandwagon, which Ferguson appeared to start by saying that Modric was his player of the year.
    Not a leading question, really.
The same 'Modric to Manyoo' story has been in the Daily Mail for about 4 days straight and various other papers have picked up on it, prior to this report.

It's all probably a load of crap that only morons fall for.

So he said Modric was his player of the yeat, big deal. You often hear players and managers praising who they think have been the best performers of the season. He never said he wanted to sign Modric, did he?

You might be able to suggest that this was just a coincidence, if it hadn't happened repeatedly already.

You just stick to your whole persecution complex, which your club sells to you lot brilliantly and everyone else will see the obvious truth, ok?

When asked a question like that it's fair to assume most top managers will answer it with some level of mischief behind it. After every bad match Utd have against a big team you can be sure Fergie will deflect the attention away from his own players by saying something contraversial, usaually about the ref. To claim that he answered the player of the year question completely honestly and without looking to start rumours is pretty ignorant.

I'm not really sure why you still keep posting on this article, to be honest. You've done nothing but miss the point this whole time and there's no reason to think that that's gonna change anytime soon.

Don, you live in an "ideal world" which fans get what they want, and what's best for the club, I live in reality and can see quite clearly that our best players want to achieve and be a success in football and you have to accept that we're 3-4 years off mounting a serious title challenge and during them 3-4 years if we built the team up then we could (if lucky) get to a champions league final.

This is why players go as they realise to get to the level of man utd it takes time, building a team unless you go down the man city route (but that isn't going to happen).

I would love nothing more then for us to keep our best players, trim the squad and invest in 2-3 top quality signings while bringing through some youth players however I fully expect a bid to come in for one or more of our star players and if the club is a man utd or barca then you have realise the player will be sold and that is just the nature of the game.
